I HAVE OWNED THIS CAMARO SINCE 1973 WHEN I BOUGHT IT AT AGE 16 FROM THE SECOND OWNER. I WILL BEGIN TELLING YOU THAT YOU WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO BUILD THIS CAR WITH ALL THE NOS PARTS I USED IN IT'S RESTORATION FOR THE RESERVE PRICE I HAVE FOR THIS AUCTION. THIS CAR HAS WON A NUMBER OF 1ST PLACE AWARDS AT CAR SHOWS SINCE IT WAS COMPLETED INCLUDING BEST IN CLASS AT THE WORLD OF WHEELS CAR SHOW IN MINNEAPOLIS. (1ST PHOTO UNDER LIGHTS WAS AT THAT SHOW BEFORE DISPLAY WAS SET UP) I LOVE THIS CAR BUT HAVE GOTTEN TO THE POINT AFTER THIS MANY YEARS THAT THE MARRIAGE MUST COME TO AN END AND SOMEONE ELSE NEEDS TO START ENJOYING IT. SINCE THE RESTORATION WAS COMPLETED IN 2004 THE CAR HAS ONLY HAD A LITTLE OVER 1000 MILES PUT ON IT. IT HAS BEEN STORED IN A TEMPERTURE CONTROLLED GARAGE SINCE THE RESTORATION WAS STARTED IN 2000. WHEN I BOUGHT THE CAR THE SECOND OWNER HAD BLOWN UP THE ORIGINAL DZ 302 ENGINE AND HAD INSTALLED A 327. I LOCATED A CORRECT 69 DZ302 NOT LONG AFTER PURCHASING THE CAR BUT IT WAS STORED AS I BUILT A LT1 350 ENGINE FOR THE CAR TO DO A LITTLE STREET AND DRAG RACING. WHILE WORKING AT WHITE BEAR DODGE DURING THE 70'S, I HAD A GOOD FRIEND WHO WORKED AT A NEARBY CHEVROLET DEALER AND I STARTED COLLECTING OEM NOS CAMARO PARTS SO TO RESTORE IT SOMEDAY. AFTER USING THE FRONT CLIP TO FIX UP A 69 RS SS CONVERTABLE IN 1980 AND THE LT1 SOLD OFF, THE CAR WAS PUT IN A SEALED STORAGE UNIT OUT OF SITE FOR THE NEXT 20 YEARS. I WILL DO MY BEST TO DESCRIBE ALL THE ORIGINAL PARTS AND NEW PARTS USED IN THE RESTORATION BUT IF ANY QUESTIONS PLEASE CONTACT ME. THIS CAR IS A REAL Z/28 X77 CAR AND I HAVE THE PROTECTO PLATE THAT CAME WITH THE CAR. THOUGH THE ENGINE IS NOT FROM THIS Z/28, IT IS A CORRECT 1969 DZ302 ENGINE. THE 4 SPEED TRANSMISSION, 12 BOLT REAR AXEL, SUB FRAME, STEERING SECTOR, INTAKE MANIFOLD AND CARBURATOR ARE ORIGINAL TO THIS CAR. THIS CAR IS NOT AN ORIGINAL RALLY SPORT, AS BEING IT WAS NOT A COMPLETE NUMBERS CAR I DECIDED TO RESTORE THE CAR AS I WOULD HAVE ORDERED IT NEW IN 1969. THE CAR CAME IN LEMANS BLUE WITH WHITE STRIPES, STANDARD INTERIOR, CONSOLE W/GUAGES, TACH, REAR SPOILER, CHROME ROCKER AND WHEEL OPENNING MOULDINGS, RALLY WHEELS, AND ALL THE STANDARD DRIVETRAIN DZ302 ENGINE, MUNSIE 4 SPD TRANS, 12 BOLT REAREND 373 OR 411 POSI, QUICK RATIO MANUAL STEERING AND POWER FRT DISC BRAKES. OPTIONS NOW INCLUDE POWER WINDOWS (ALL ORIGINAL GM), COLOR CODED ENDURA FRONT BUMPER, REAR BUMPER GUARDS, ALL NEW DELUXE INTERIOR, TINTED GLASS (ALL NEW WITH CORRECT DATE CODES) RALLY SPORT OPTION, TILT STEERING, HEAD LAMP WASHERS. STARTING AT THE BOTTOM.... ALL THE FLOORS ARE ALL ORIGINAL EXCEPT FOR THE DRIVERS FRONT BECAUSE (IT WAS MODIFIED FOR A RACING CLUTCH/SCATTERSHIELD BELLHOUSING BACK WHEN I WAS YOUNG AND DIDN'T KNOW BETTER), THE ROCKERS INNERS AND OUTERS ALL ORIGINAL. REAR BODY PANEL WAS REPLACED WITH A NOS RALLY SPORT REAR PANEL, ORIGINAL INNER REAR WHEELHOUSES, NEW NOS OEM OUTER WHEELHOUSES, NEW NOS OEM OUTER 1/4 PANELS, NEW NOS OEM TRUNK LID AND SPOILER, ORIGINAL ROOF PANEL AND ALL ROOF STRUCTURE, NEW REPLACEMENT UPPER METAL DASH PANEL(WHERE THEY ALL RUST FROM THE CRAPPY FACTORY WINDSHIELD KITS) NEW NOS OEM COWL INDUCTION HOOD WITH ALL CORRECT INDUCTION HARDWARE, NEW OEM NOS COWL PANEL, HEADER PANEL, FRONT LOWER VALANCE/SPOILER AND CORRECT RALLY SPORT FENDERS AND EXTENSIONS. LEFT DOOR HAS A NOS OEM OUTER PANEL REPLACED DUE TO A MINOR ACCIDENT (LADDER FELL AGAINST IT IN STORAGE) RIGHT DOOR IS ALL ORIGINAL TO CAR. NOS OEM NEW DOOR HINGES. ORIGINAL REAR CHROME BUMPER (REPLATED IN SHOW CHROME) NOS OEM REAR BUMPER GUARDS/PADS, ALL EMBLEMS ON CAR ARE NOS OEM, ALL NOS OEM WEATHERSTRIPS, ALL THE CHROME MOULDINGS AND TRIM ARE NOS OEM. GRILL AND HEADLAMP DOORS AND ALL TRIM ARE NOS OEM, HEADLAMP MECHANISMS ARE OEM, INTERIOR IS ALL NEW CLASSIC INDUSTRIES BLACK DELUXE INC SEATCOVERS, DOOR PANELS, SEATBELTS, HEADLINER, REAR SHELF AND CARPET. SEAT FRAMES, KICK PANELS, HEAD RESTS, VISORS AND DASH PAD ARE ORIGINAL, NOS OEM STEERING WHEEL, CONSOLE AND GUAGES WERE REBUILT USING LOTS OF NOS OEM PARTS ALONG WITH EXCELLENT CONDITION ORIGINALS. TACK AND SPEEDO ALL ORIGINAL INC BEZELS. FRESH AIR VENTS REPLACED WITH NOS OEM. ALL HANDLES, MIRRORS, PARKING LAMPS, SIDE MARKERS AND LOCKS WERE REPLACED NOS OEM PARTS, ORIGINAL FRONT INNER FENDERS, CORE SUPPORT WAS REPLACED NOS OEM. POWER WINDOWS ALL ARE OEM GM COMPLETE INC SWITCHES WITH ALL NEW WIRING INSTALLED ON ALL FOUR. ALL WIRING HARNESSES HAVE BEEN REPLACED NEW. NEW VINYL TOP FROM CLASSIC. FRONT ENDURA BUMPER IS A NEW REPLACEMENT AS IT FIT BETTER THAN THE OEM ONE I HAD. NOS OEM, GAS TANK, SENDER AND FUEL LINES / BRAKE LINES ARE ALL NEW STAINLESS STEEL. BRAKE BOOSTER AND MASTER CYLINDER HAVE BEEN REBUILT WITH BOOSTER REPLATED CORRECTLY. ALL WHEEL BEARINGS,SEALS REPLACED. ALL NEW BRAKES, CABLES, HARDWARE, CYLINDERS AND CALIPERS REBUILT. THIS CAR HAD A PROFESSIONAL GROUND UP RESTORATION THAT I WAS INVOLVED WITH COMPLETELY AND THERE WAS NOT A PART ON THIS CAR THAT WASN'T REMOVED, REBUILT, REPLACED, CLEANED OR POLISHED TO LIKE OR BETTER THAN NEW. THIS CAR IS NOT PERFECT BUT IT'S PRETTY DARN CLOSE TO IT. THE PAINT IS IN EXCELLENT SHAPE WITH LOTS OF CLEAR AND THE BLACK STRIPES LAID ON TOP LIKE THE FACTORY/DEALERS DID IT. "PHOTOS DO NOT DO THIS CAR JUSTICE AS TO HOW IT LOOKS IN PERSON" MECHANICAL... EVERYTHING WAS REBUILT OR GONE THRU. THE DZ302 WAS DYNO RUN BEFORE INSTALLED . THE ONLY QUIRK IS WHEN THE CAR ISN'T DRIVEN FOR A WHILE SEEMS TO LEAK A LITTLE FROM THE FRONT SEAL ON THE MUNSIE TRANSMISSION. ALL THE SPRINGS FRONT AND REAR ARE NEW, ORIGINAL CONTROL ARMS WERE REBUILT AND ALL STEERING RODS REPLACED EXCEPT CENTERLINK IS NEW. THE DISTRIBUTER IS A MSD REPLACEMENT ELECTRONIC THAT LOOKS LIKE AND ORIGINAL. I LOCATED AN ORIGINAL OEM AND REBUILT IT BUT COULD NEVER GET IT TO RUN CORRECT ON THE DYNO AS IT SEEMS TO HAVE A BAD SHAFT AND THE MSD HELPED IT PUSH 354 HP ON THE DYNO FROM A FACTORY SPEC DZ302 REBUILD WITH 30 OVER PISTONS. I KNOW THAT THERE ARE A FEW THINGS THAT MAKE THIS CAMARO NOT FACTORY CORRECT (ENGINE COMPARTMENT FIREWALL PAINT, CHROME BRKTS AND ALTERNATOR(ORIGINAL) BUT I BUILT IT THE WAY I LIKE (TO DRIVE IT) AND THIS IS NOT A TRAILER QUEEN / MUSEUM CAR.... IT'S A GORGEOUS 1969 CAMARO Z/28 RS THAT WILL TURN HEADS WHERE EVER IT GOES AND IT'S FULL OF ORIGINAL PARTS AND WAS A SOLID CAR FROM THE START. ADDED TO MAKE THIS A QUIET GREAT DRIVER THE CAR HAS GAS SHOCKS, WITH ($4,000 WORTH) GOODYEAR EAGLE F1 245/40 ZR18 RADIAL TIRES ON WHEEL VINTIQUE CUSTOM MADE POLISHED ALUMINUM 18" WHEELS. VEHICLE ALSO COMES WITH A CUSTOM FIT PADDED CAR COVER,THE DYNO PAPERWORK AND A BOX FULL OF RECEIPTS FROM THE BUILD THAT WELL SURPASSES THE RESERVE PRICE ON THIS CAR.
