Vehicle Detail
I apologize to the interested parties that bid on this vehicle in the previous auction. The buyer failed to comply with the auction stipulations and complete the transaction. That is why this vehicle is being re-listed, so please do not bid on this vehicle if you are unable to complete the transaction. For Sale is a 1968 Chevelle SS 396 all original numbers matching car. Let me just take the time to say you don't find this every day and it is a rarity. This car I am selling with a story and the tattered remains of the buildsheet I discovered between the trunk pan and the gas tank. I was able to contact the second owner and get the history on the car from 1969 to present. The car was built in Framingham Mass. and originally purchased in New York. It moved to San Antonio in 1976. Being at these locations explains the heavy rust issues the car has. It has rust in the typical locations the rear window shelf, lower front fenders, corners of doors, lower rear quarters, floors and trunk pan. It is a shame this car was left outside but it can all be fixed and they make replacement panels for just about everything these days. I purchased the car with the intentions of doing a frame off restoration and saving this car from the crusher. Financially I can't afford to accomplish this anytime soon. It's definately worth saving and one day will be an incredible beauty again! This was a no frills no thrills low option car meant to hall butt. VIN # 138378GXXXXXX The options are as follows: 396/350hp engine, M-21 4 speed muncie, 12 bolt posi rear axle with 3.55 gears, manuel steering, manuel brakes, Paint code V-V (Sequoia Green Metallic), option 766 Black Bucket seat interior w/Console, imitation wood steering wheel and vertical "Roll" tachometer in the instrument cluster. Production Date code "06C" third week of June. This is a four wheel drum car and came with the sleeper steel wheels, redline tires and dog dish covers from the factory. I have decoded the entire car via "Chevrolet by the Numbers" written by Alvin Colvin and everything is correct on the car except for the ralley wheels and Carb. The rally wheels are correct for 68 SS Chevelle "XB" code but talking to the second owner didn't come on the car originally. I have since located and purchased the numbers matching carb and the correct coded steel wheels. The car does run but is not road worthy as the brakes need work (pedal sinks to the floor), the carburetor needs rebuilt and it has been sitting since 1981. I have a Pass rust free front fender, carb rebuild kit, sparkplugs and other misc. itemss I have purchased that will go with the car. Please feel free to contact me with any questions. Again this car needs a full restoration and is not for the faint of heart. Clear Colorado Title in hand. Buyer is responsible for Shipping and Transportation method. Will Deliver Locally for additional fee. A $2000 dollar deposit is due within 48 hours of auction end and full payment is Due within 7 days of Auction end. This Car is also for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction at any time. Please contact me with any questions or uncertainties before bidding. Thanks Steve
