Vehicle Detail
This unique find is originally from the collection of the John Howard Studebaker. Mr. Studebaker was known for his love of the brand and had an extensive collection at one time. This unique car was recently purchased from Kathy Lynn Studebaker. The documentation provided indicates the car has not been titled since 1974 and was originally delivered to N, Hollywood California. 1960 represents a pivotal time in our nations history and being my birth year drew me to this unique vehicle. Documentation from the Studebaker National Museum indicates this car was delivered with a performance oriented 3.31 axle ratio coupled to a Flight-O-Matic transmission. It is also listed by the Museum as being a Deluxe 8 sedan originally in White Sand exterior paint. According to Wikipedia these Lark VIII models were quicker than the other compact competitors and with the 3.31 axle, this particular car should be a performer! Condition and pedigree indicates that this car has been a desert survivor. There is some rust from years of sitting and possible condensation in the doors. I pulled two spark plugs and there was some rust on the tips as well. An extra door is provided with this sale. The interior is missing some parts such as the padded dash. Body is not dent free but is mostly straight with little filler. Tires will need to be replaced. Brakes do not function and I haven't had time to inspect them. A battery has not been connected to the car so electrical functioning can't be verified. The engine compartment appears to have original parts such as the generator. The engine will not spin by hand so assume it will need a restoration. The individual I purchased the car from claimed he verified that the engine numbers matched the invoice from the Studebaker Museum. Pictures of the engine stamp are attached. I acquired this car recently but due to health-income issues I must turn around and resale it. This is a no reserve auction. I am not fluent on picture hosting. It will be conveyed via a bill of sale along with Trustee affidavit. Seller assumes no responsibility for DMV issues when titling in a state other then Nevada. This vehicle is sold as is where is with no express or implied warranty. Any statements made have been in good faith but are not warrantied.
