Vehicle Detail
All original 1969 Sachs Cross Country 125cc motorcycle ...with 125 5A motor (steel cylinder and aluminum head), and 5 speed transmission. Re-listed due to payment not received - NO RESERVE THE GOOD: 81 original miles. That's right, 81 miles. It is completely original, clean and correct. It features the Earles Leading Link suspension, VDO speedometer, original Metzler tires, Magura grips and controls, Bing carburetor and factory steering tensioner, all of which function properly. The wheels are straight, true, and balanced. The tank and seat are unblemished and the entire bike shows no signs of wear or ever having been raced or offroad. Close examination of the footpegs, shift lever, brake lever and handlebar grips / levers indicate the bike has never been tipped over. It starts, runs and shifts perfectly. The headlight and tail light work but do not appear to be very bright. The tank has no dents and is near perfect. THE BAD: Very minor pitting of the chrome fenders. The R/H throttle grip has been taped. Minor surface corrosion on handlebars, control levers, and cylinder / head. Original Metzler tires have barely noticeable sidewall cracking and hold air for a week or two. The gas cap is dented, and the 'SACHS' gas tank emblems are cracked, but original. HISTORY AND REASON FOR SALE: The bike has been stored indoors in a heated garage and has not been run for the past 5 years. Corrosion inhibitor was sprayed into the cylinder before storage, but the gas/oil mixture in the tank was not emptied. I raced motocross with this year and model (not this bike) back in the early 1970's, and purchased this bike 5 years ago to ride again, but after some research decided it was too rare and valuable to risk damaging it. All in all, a beautiful machine that was built in Schweinfurt Germany almost 45 years ago, and was quite competitive in its day. Bike is owned free and clear, but no title exists. Sold as-is with no warranty. A bill of sale will be provided. PayPal accepted for deposit; balance must be paid in full by cash or cashier's check prior to acceptance / delivery.
