Vehicle Detail
After owning several Alfa Spiders, I purchased this GTV6 locally from a high end sports car dealer. What a fun car! It drives great. Sounds incredible with the Ansa exhaust (I find myself looking for overpasses!). It's drive and ride is very solid...more like a BMW than an Italian car. However with another daughter heading to college shortly, it's time to start selling some toys. The interior is in very good shape. The only problem is the top of the backseat which has a tear on each side. They are not noticeable but are there. The Balocco edition should have red carpet however it has been changed at some point to black which is practically new. The leather on the seats is in very good shape. The interior features an updated Alpine stereo along with a Nardi steering wheel. The leather on the wheel is somewhat rough however the wheel still feels and looks good. The trunk area is like new and includes the original campagnolo wheel and Alfa tool kit. The body is virtually rust free. I have inspected it quite thoroughly and have found no issues. The paint was changed from red to green prior to my ownership. I've considered taking it back to the original color. However the paint is in pretty good shape and I like the appearance of the car in green. The practical side of me determined that the cost of the paint job would not increase the value of the car by the same amount. There are a couple of nicks in the paint and there is a spot where the clear coat is starting to give. However the car still looks good and you have to give the car a long look to find the flaws. There is a crack in the left fender that is evident after a walk around. As mentioned above, the car is a blast to drive and gets good gas mileage while at it. There are no leaks and the car runs cool!!! The A/C components were all replaced prior to my purchase. For a week, the A/C worked great! Then it became evident that there is a freon leak. Unfortunately the servicing shop would not warrant his work and I have not since had the problem checked. However the install appears very professional.... Tires, suspension, brakes, & transmission are all in great shape. The clutch is okay. Take up is quite a way off the floor however it is still smooth. Since I have not owned a GTV6 before, perhaps that is the set up. Besides the A/C, the only items that don't work are the power antennae, windshield washer, and one of the headlights needs to be replaced. (I may get this done shortly.)
