Vehicle Detail
You are bidding on an extremely clean, all original, 100% complete, excellent running CL175KO (175cc parallel twin, 4-stroke engine with 5-speed transmission) in Candy Orange with 7,620 miles. Engine No. is CL175E-1019937, Ignition / Key No. T3796, & HONDA Product Code is 236. This model was the successor to the CL160 Scrambler and only produced in 1968 & ’69. The 175cc motor, the last of the sloper design, produced 20 horsepower vs. 16 for the CL160. Having ridden both, I can attest the 175KO mated with the 5-speed tranny literally blows away the CL160. As the compression was down slightly in one cylinder, the upper end recently received a valve job, cylinder honing, new rings & gaskets. All engine work was completed by MrHonda Bill Silver, and he will attest the end gap was within factory tolerances and all worn parts & gaskets were replaced with new. The bike drives, shifts and brakes as new. Tires were recently replaced and show negligible wear. Battery is brand new YUASA. Forks were recently taken down, thoroughly flushed of old fluid & rebuilt with new seals. Headlight bucket & fork ears are new, recently powder-coated black, and all rubber bushings were replaced. Tank is exceptionally clean inside and has never been coated or sealed. Paint is excellent including side covers. While not truly a show quality bike, it is extremely clean and dazzles everyone who sees it. The exhaust is in excellent condition with great chrome & no rot or loose materials inside. As noted in the pictures, there is heat discoloration in the left header pipe (not unusual), a small scuff on the front fender and minor flecking on the original rims. There is very minor damage to one side of the upper cross-brace where it connects to the handle bar, but structural integrity is not affected. All chrome is in exceptionally good condition for being original. Chain and rear sprocket cush pads are new / recently replaced. All cables are new, including the front brake cable which includes a unique feature that electrically activates the brake light. Turn signals, which were removed to enhance appearance, are fully operable and intact, & will be included in sale. Sale includes a complete tool kit as well as Honda Operator & Parts Manuals. Bike is currently licensed and titled in CA under seller’s name though it may be changed to NON-OP status depending on date of sale. Mileage is believed to be actual. This is arguably the cleanest, best running, unrestored HONDA CL175KO you will ever find. Seller is “thinning the herd” to make way for other projects. Pictures are very recent and accurately depict bike’s condition. Bidders with less than 25 eBay transactions must contact the seller before bidding. TERMS OF SALE are non-refundable $500 DOWN PAYMENT via PayPal, cashiers check or money order within 72-hours of auction close. FULL PAYMENT (cashiers check or money order preferred for balance) is due within 7-days of auction close.. Payment must clear my bank PRIOR to shipment or new owner taking possession. Seller will assist in arranging shipment within reason. Delivery in the SoCAL area may be possible though terms (scheduling, delivery location and appropriate compensation) should be communicated to seller in advance of sale. Do not bid on this auction unless you fully intend to purchase this item. Your bid is your purchase contract. Seller has been totally honest with above description, and expects bidders to render the same. PLEASE NOTE this is a 45-year old motorcycle and is sold as is with no warranty. Please ask questions PRIOR TO bidding. Good Luck bidding on an exceptionally clean, complete & original vintage HONDA street scrambler. Seller retains the right to terminate the auction at any time. Trust me, this rear tank mounting / hold-down piece is a VERY hard to find part.
