This auction is for a 2009 Hyundai Accent GLS 4-door sedan. It’s finished in Nordic White with the Gray interior. The Accent is powered by Hyundai’s proven and reliable G4ED Alpha II 1.6L DOHC 16 valve CVVT engine known for it’s good power output, great economy and inherent smoothness. It features a cast iron engine block for maximum durability with an aluminum cylinder head for light weight and excellent heat dissipation that gives a 10.0:1 compression ratio to squeeze the most horsepower out of every drop of fuel. This powerplant has two overhead cams (DOHC) with Continuously Variable Valve Timing (CVVT) for maximum power output at all engine speeds, coil on plug (COP) ignition for reliability in all environmental conditions and multiport fuel injection for precise fuel delivery with maximum economy. For the 2009 model, Hyundai has made significant changes to this engine so that it gets a 2 mpg better EPA fuel economy rating in both city and highway driving than the 2008 and older models. Something to keep in mind if you’ve also been looking at older Accents. The engine is mated to a 4-speed automatic transmission. This front wheel drive transaxle setup has a low first gear that provides brisk acceleration when starting off, while the high top gear allows for effortless highway cruising and excellent fuel economy figures of over 40 mpg when driven with restraint. Rounding out the Accent GLS is a suspension made to smooth out your daily commute while still having fun on twisting roads. Start off with a light curb weight of just 2,400 pounds. Add a MacPherson strut independent front suspension, a front stabilizer bar, speed-sensitive rack and pinion power steering for precise road feel and a stiffer chassis design than many other small vehicles, and you have a car that is quicker, faster and handles better than most others in it’s class. While the Hyundai Accent is one of the lowest priced cars new, it still has all the latest active and passive safety features of more expensive cars. The Accent has a total of eight airbags including advanced dual stage front airbags with passenger sensor, front side airbags and front and rear head curtain airbags. Also, this Accent has optional Anti-Lock Brakes (ABS) and Electronic Brake-Force Distribution (EBD). The exterior is beautiful to look at but interior design wasn’t left out. It has a beautiful dent-free body without even any scratches or parking lot door dings to speak of other than the normal nicks and blemishes you would expect on a 4 year old car. Notice especially the bumpers and how blemish-free they are compared to most other cars. The paint itself is also beautiful and shiny and this Nordic White just about glows in the sunlight. It has just been cleaned with Meguiar’s Smooth Surface Clay System, polished with Meguiar’s Mirror Glaze cleaner polish and topped off with Meguiar’s Ultimate Synthetic wax for a high gloss shine. Just because it’s a lower priced car doesn’t mean the detailing was skimped on. It got the same treatment as would be done on a $30,000 vehicle. All the glass, moldings, trim and emblems are excellent and the headlights are crystal clear. I checked the car out top to bottom and found no evidence of any paint or bodywork. In fact, it still has the original VIN stickers on all body panels. Remember, it’s hard enough to find a 30,000 mile vehicle that hasn’t had at least a fender-bender requiring a bumper, hood or fender to be replaced or repaired, let alone one with over 80,000 miles like this one. It has excellent upholstery, carpet, dashboard, door panels and headliner with no cracks, rips or tears or any significant signs of wear. Just the driver’s seat shows a little dirt. The car doesn‘t appear to have been smoked in. The trunk looks like it was hardly ever used and the engine compartment has been fully detailed and is clean enough to eat off of. Mechanically it runs and drives excellent. The engine runs strong and feels smooth both at idle, while accelerating and throughout the cruising range and the transmission shifts smoothly. The steering wheel is on dead center going down the road with no shakes or vibrations at speed, the brakes are firm with no pedal pulsations or pulling to one side when stopping and the suspension is tight. The A/C blows ice cold. It has a very good pair of tires up front and a fair to good pair at the back with the left one needing replacement soon. The spare tire doesn’t look to have ever been used. The car has been fully checked out and serviced with over $2,000 worth of new or recent parts, maintenance and repairs with original Hyundai or other name brand parts so that only your enjoyment rather than your immediate attention will be required on delivery. The Carfax reports it as a 2 owner but that is an error as Capital One titled it after it was repossessed and should not have been recorded as a second owner. Remember, you can get a great deal on Ebay with prices sometimes way below retail, but no bidder is going to “steal” a vehicle and no seller is going to give one away either. Also when comparing prices, remember the things that you won’t have to spend money on. With this car you won’t have to spend $600 for a timing belt and water pump replacement, you won’t have to spend $300 on a complete front brake service, you won’t have to spend $300 on a complete rear brake service, you won’t have to spend $300 on a coolant and transmission service, you won’t have to spend $300 on a tune-up and filters service, you won’t have to spend $300 on any upcoming scheduled maintenance, and you won’t have to spend $100 on a major detailing. With many of the other listings on Ebay, you’re lucky if they even check the oil before delivery. When you are comparing this car to the others listed with over 60,000 miles, ask the sellers when the timing belt was replaced. If they don’t know, or say it hasn’t been replaced, budget another $600 for that car. If you are looking for a very nice Accent in great condition at a low price, then this car is hard to beat. Also remember that we don’t charge dealer processing fees or document fees that many other listings have for $200 or more and bury in their fine print. And don’t be fooled by some other auctions that are advertised as NO RESERVE and start at $100 or some other low price. Since no dealer is going to risk loosing thousands of dollars if their auction doesn’t bring enough money, you can be pretty sure he has some “people” bidding on it for him. Especially those auctions that are private listings where it says “User ID kept private.” Also, because my reserve is close to the Buy It Now price, don’t think that you will get a much better deal if you just keep bidding it up instead of using B.I.N., especially if you need it delivered.
