Vehicle Detail
Really nice 1965 Sportvan Delux, fifteen windows. Three speed transmission, 250 motor (not original motor) 6 cylinder, electronic ignition. Mileage unknown. Crager mags, duel exhaust, interior looks good original panels. All glass intact, rubber moldings all there, all emblems and moldings complete. Not original paint, but some of it looks original. Some Bondo I have found over the years I have owned it. There is a little bit of rust under the driver's door on the body about the size of a silver dollar, there is a spot of rust here and some dings and scratches on the paint. There is primer near the front window where it looks like a repair was made but I don't know more than that. Good brakes, tight steering, good shocks, bad tires, loud antique sounding aftermarket horn that scares the ____ out of people if needed. Tape player in the glove box with 4 great sounding speakers. No original radio. No rust under the van, everything under the chassis is solid. There is a little bit of rust under the driver's door in a couple spots on the body about the size of a silver dollar. I have owned the van for about sever or eight years. The previous owner said the 6 cylinder motor came out of a 1979 Chevy Nova that he had it rebuilt. It was my daily driver that I would take to the beach, drive up to the mountains, up to Santa Barbara, down to San Diego...I kept it well maintained, tuned up, and on the road. I never abused it. It is delicate, being almost 50 years old, so I treated it well and it shows. I do not know the original miles, but have put about 40 thousand miles on it myself, only doing basic tune up and oil changes. The windows don't like to be rolled up like a new car; the linkage doesn't like to be slammed into gear; it is not for doing over 80 miles an hour, although it will easily do that. It has old door rubbers, and does not have the tight fitting doors it once had. It still locks, opens, closes, stops starts, sometimes coughs, chokes, gets hot, gets cold, but it is made to easily work on it yourself it slightly mechanically inclined. I have never had a major issue with it and feel comfortable driving it for years to come. $500. deposit is required within 2 days ( 48 hours) after auction ends. I am sad to sell, but don't drive it anymore. It has sat in my driveway for the last two years. Once and a while I would drive it locally, but probably put 25 miles on it in the last two years. It is in need of a tune up and a new set of tires. The tires hold air and have not deflated over the last two years, but they have developed cracking and are not safe to drive anywhere except to a tire store. It fires up every time, but when cold needs the carburetor to be primed. The choke isn't working and the carb runs rich, but van drives and runs strong. Much more I could write to describe this wonderful van but just ask specific questions and I will reply.
