Vehicle Detail

1969 Chevelle Convertible, AACA Winner Purchased in 1969 as a second car, not daily driver, adult owned. Original owner sold car to his friend/neighbor in 1985. Second owner had a high quality respray as lacquer paint was wearing thin on hood, under hood was meticulously detailed, and new carpet installed, and twenty eight years later she still looks show quality. From 1985 – 2010 was part of a private collection and meticulously maintained, driven sparingly less than 1500 miles mostly to maintain seals and fluids. Received five AACA Survivor awards, including 2nd place overall survivor at the nations largest car show Carlisle PA. The second owner’s health concerns prompted majority sale of his collection. Have acquired her early 2010 and taken pride in maintaining her pristine condition. All sheet metal is original straight 100% rust free, with factory (non perfect) fit and finish seams. Paint shines bright and looks excellent. Drive train works perfectly and never been out of the car, undercarriage is all original and un restored (not a spec of rust or blistering), shocks are the original style spirals (likely factory replacements back in 1985), original canvas power top works flawlessly like new. Other than carpet, interior is original including factory floor mats. Correct jack and spare. The trunk mat underside foam has delaminated in a few spots; it is original fabric style, not the thick vinyl reproduction. All rubber weather seals and wire harness is soft not brittle as time typically dry out, this is a result of climate controlled environment. Everything works as it should, the car starts, runs, rides as in 1969 Options: power convertible top, 307, 2 barrel carb, single exhaust, power glide, PS, Strat-O-bucket seats, console, deluxe shoulder seat belts. Original: Interior, floor mats, seats, ext, (less carpet). Glass with PPG etching Convertible canvas top with original PPG glass Protect-O-Plate with car (will include documentation for AACA awards) Everything original except Carpet (and believe shocks) Yes all the way down to the hose clamps, minor details…..correct factory 1969! Recent full tune up and all fluids changed…needs nothing. Will include original rear wheel opening trim/screws, and black convertible top boot The bad: One of the low beam T-3 head lamp bulbs recently burned out and replaced with non T-3, leaves a few drops of oil when parked over time (drivetraine has never been out of car), and has a small paint chip on drivers door. How many exist untouched by time, restorers, not been taken apart, still wear their original parts, upholstery, and trim? Have a known history since the day it drove off the dealer lot, been judged by the best and received awards. Would have listed as Survivor yet re spray in 1985, replaced carpet, and the under hood detail only closely approach 100% untouched. Judges agree it’s a survivor. May be One out of One Chevelle in this condition in existence. Purchased a documented 67 Camaro Pace car two years ago, 100K restoration near complete is why chose to let someone else enjoy this Chevelle. Someone is going to get an amazing 1969 Chevelle convertible that they can truly enjoy. Is ready to show, and drive….beautiful in every detail You are more than welcome to inspect this vehicle at any time before the end of the auction.
