I have repaired and replaced multiple items on this vehicle costing me over $1,060. I am selling this vehicle at a huge loss even though the KBB value is about $4,000. It has had everything from front end upper ball joints to a full tune-up under the hood replaced. I will list any problems that I haven't fixed. This Explorer is a good vehicle that will have many miles to come. The vehicle has been sitting for sometime now and it will most definitely need a new battery. The car starts up just fine with a jump start. The Interior of the Explorer is average for the age of it. The interior is generally clean throughout. The door panels are clean and tight. The carpets show well for their age. The seats are in good condition. This Explorer is optioned with power windows, locks and mirrors. The right rear door doesn't always unlock properly and sometimes fights you to get it open. The climate control system appears to be in proper working condition.. The stereo sounds good, too. The cargo area is spacious and clean. Mechanically, this Explorer appears to be in good running and driving condition. The 4.0L V6 engine starts easily and runs smoothly. I did not notice any leaks and the engine does not smoke. The suspension on this truck feels nice and tight. The steering is neutral and responsive. Out on the road, her driving manners are good. She rolls nice and smoothly down the road. The engine keeps proper temperature and good oil pressure. The brakes will need some repairing as they do not work 100%. On the highway, this Explorer cruises effortlessly with no complaints. The automatic transmission takes a second or two to lock into drive. This can easily been fixed with a bottle of Lucas Transmission fix. It only costs a few dollars and it helps the transmission out a lot. The 4WD system is tested and working properly.
