1980 BMW R-Series

This 1980 R100 came from the factory with the S fairing, bars and BMW bags. The paint is original and is in excellent condition. I bought the bike almost two years ago on ebay with 46500 miles, and soon after replaced the following: tires, fuel lines and filters, K&N air filter, front and rear Progressive springs and shocks, throttle, brake, choke and clutch cables, rebuilt front brake kit and pads, new master cylinder, spark plugs and wires, tune up and carb rebuild, head bolts torqued and valves adjusted, and changed all fluid. Since then I have added VRG bar end mirrors, 100 watt head light bulb and new headlight relay, and a Browns side stand. The bike runs perfect, shifts great, and is very reliable. I enjoy riding on back country roads and wanted this bike to be as reliable as possible. It has been. I've been the entire 105 mile length of Sky Line Drive several times and have put many miles on it west of where I live. The bike draws attention everywhere I ride it, even among a crowd of Harley riders. All summer long when I go shopping at the food store I can expect someone to come up to me and say what a cool bike it is, how great condition it is in, etc. If you buy this bike be prepared to talk about it. I offer it with all fluids changed, waxed and full tank of gas, just like I would like to buy a bike. It also comes with a nice tank bag and cover, new coil and generator, oil change kit, and various spare bulbs. The frame down tube on riders left has minor rust. The gas tank, at the bottom back where a coat zipper is has three very minor scratches, unable to photo they are so small (I put them there). The bike came with a seat from a 1984 bike and is a big improvement over the '80 model. The seat is like new and very comfortable. I have paperwork for all work done on bike. I take it to a great BMW mechanic in Alexandria, Va for all work except for the oil changes which I do myself. In one week the bike will be at his shop for viewing and you can talk to him about the bike if you like. It will be at my house until then. Before I bought this bike I had a bad experience on ebay with another bike. I will be as honest as possible with you about this bike.
