I recently bought this R 1100S but arthritis prevents me from enjoying it. It is in excellent condition and needs very little (valve adjustment?) It is a very early 2001 model which has the reliable ABS module, not the trouble-prone ABS of the late 2001 and later (verified with Victory BMW). I believe it is the lightweight version R1100S because it has an aluminum gas tank, magnesium valve covers, and a carbon fiber front fender. It also has the following goodies: A $2000 Termignoni titanium exhaust system which sounds fantastic. A $1500 set of Bitubo racing shocks. A carbon fiber front fender. A set of BMW hard bags that have minor scratches on them (see pictures). A $650 Corbin seat with backrest. New handgrips, new upper front brake hose, fresh oil, good tires, bar end weights with mechanical cruise control, extra set of comfort bars, rear cowling. The only issue: the previous owner bought it with approximately 35,000 miles on it, and he said that the speedometer began working intermittently after 36,000+ miles. So he estimated that the bike could actually have 50,000 miles on it. The title indicates actual mileage not reflected in odometer reading. Oh, and the windshield is faded.
