Vehicle Detail

In 1967, Buick produced 2,140 GS 400 Convertibles. This particular car was bought new on October 10, 1967 at Win Stephens Buick Town, and retains all of it's paperwork and original protect-o-plate. It was ordered with the desirable bucket seat interior, complete with a full-length console and built in tachometer. The car also has power assisted drum brakes, along with a Sonomatic AM radio. I have been an enthusiast and collector of Buicks for the last twenty years, and am a member of the Buick Club of America and director of the local chapter in Southern Arizona. I purchased this car from another collector last summer, and have done quite a bit of work to enhance its presentation and reliability. I will try to be as honest as possible in describing this car, and encourage you to contact me by phone or email with questions. I have also included pictures of the fire wall data plate and engine block number for verification purposes. In addition, you can follow my picasa link to 100 additional photos of this car, including many of the underside and various details. https://plus.google.com/photos/101632458051943855282/albums/5851730338139871265?authkey=CJajo83R-MKOWQ Overall, this GS runs and drives very well. It does not smoke, nor does it have any significant fluid leaks. The suspension is tight, and the car tracks well and stops straight. All of the accessories work as intended, including the heater, radio, lights, horn, and power top. There is no significant rust anywhere on the car. Since purchasing the car last summer, I have made the following repairs and improvements: Replaced the convertible top, rear window, and well liner. Installed a new Pertronix electronic ignition and Flamethrower coil. Located a correct, date coded quadrajet carburetor, and had it rebuilt to factory specs, including throttle plate bushings. The 67 GS 400 had a one-year only carburetor, with a fuel inlet on the side. Replaced distributer cap, rotor, plug wires, and spark plugs. Changed the fuel pump, filter, and rubber lines. I also had the exterior re-painted by a local custom shop. They utilized a base/clear system, and color sanded and buffed the final finish. The paint looks very nice, but it does have several small imperfections, all of which are typical for a mid-range custom paint job. The pictures represent the paint well, and I would consider it to be on the high end of driver quality. According to the extremely detailed receipt file that accompanies the car, the following repairs have been done by previous owners: Front end completely rebuilt with polyurethane bushings at 143,000 miles (1988) Engine rebuilt at 153,000 miles. Block machined, timing cover replaced, and new pistons installed. Windshield replaced in 2010. Both bumpers rechromed. Tachometer repaired and re-calibrated. Radio speaker re-coned. Trunk floor, rear body mounts, rear wheel houses, and gas tank replaced. All metal work was done professionally and looks great from above and below. 2.93 Positraction rear end rebuilt and detailed. Custom dual exhaust with removable cut-out plates. Known Issues: Steering wheel is cracked in several places, and the horn button is cracked as well. Some of the exterior photos show a later model brown sport steering wheel installed, but this belongs to one of my other Gran Sports and is no longer with this car. The original 67 Buick wheel is in place, as shown on the interior photos. Grill has a hairline crack towards the center. The front arm rests are starting to split. Driver's door panel is slightly warped. Side weatherstripping on the top is starting to crack from age, but is still intact. Door fuzzies are in fairly good shape, but a complete new set is included, which came with the car when I purchased it. Very small star shaped crack in the dash pad, about the size of a quarter. Dash is otherwise excellent. This Buick is ready to drive and enjoy immediately. It is currently registered and insured, and has a clear Arizona title in my name. I am quite familiar with these cars, and have found this to be a great example of the rare 67 model year. This Buick is very fast, and is a pleasure to drive. I am happy to answer any questions. My name is Alex, and I can be reached at 520-465-2539. Cash only- I am not interested in any trades, so please don't tempt me! I will entertain reasonable offers, and am willing to post a Buy-it-now if we can agree on a price. Terms: $500 deposit via Paypal due within 48 Hours of auction close. I will send the signed title via priority mail once the deposit is received, and the balance is due via wire transfer within seven days of auction close. Car must be picked up within three weeks. Buyer is responsible for all shipping arrangements, and I will be happy to work with the shipper of your choice. The car is located in Tucson, Arizona, and my house is just four miles from Interstate 10. On Mar-08-13 at 21:25:30 PST, seller added the following information:
