This 1969 Pontiac 4 Speed GTO Convertible was produced at the Baltimore plant and sold new by Oscar Tate Pontiac in Fredericksburg, VA. This is one of 2,709 manual transmission GTO Convertibles produced in 1969 out of a total GTO production of 72,287. This GTO has 68k original, documented miles, has 17 factory options and retains its original, matching numbers drive train. I purchased the car in 2007 from a man in Richmond, VA that had stored the car for 32 years. The GTO was repainted in 2009 and the paint is excellent. It would be difficult to find a more original, low mileage, well documented, matching numbers 1969 GTO Convertible. The car runs and drives beautifully with excellent acceleration, and braking. It is unlike any GTO that I have owned and I have had a few of them. I will pass along the original owner's name and telephone number and the name and telephone number of the gentleman that owned the car from 1975-2007 to the winning bidder. Both still reside in Virginia. Engine: Original, matching numbers WT engine with factory VIN stamp. Engine rebuilt and it runs excellent with no leaks. Original 7029263 carburetor, fully rebuilt. Original intake, original 48 heads, original distributor, original flex fan, original radiator, original nodular 3.55 safe-t-track rear. Transmission: Original M20 wide ratio transmission with factory VIN stamp. Transmission fully rebuilt and it shifts perfectly. Original, rebuilt hurst shifter. Reverse lock-out is present works as it should. Shifter stick was rechromed. Body: Excellent original body. Incredible original quarters, floors, trunk lid and doors. One of the fenders had a patch panel welded in, the hood was replaced. The car was disassembled and stripped to bare metal prior to painting. Convertible Top: New top, new cylinders, new lines, new weatherstripping, new well, new top boot and bag, excellent original top motor, original switch. Top works well. Interior: Original seats, original door panels, crack free original dash, original console, console lid has been recovered, carpet is new. New door and glass channel weatherstripping. Wheels and Tires: All five original rally II wheels, (4) tires are new Goodyear G70-14 polyglas, spare is original G70-14 Goodyear Speedway Widetread. Brakes: All new brake components. New rotors, calipers, drums, brake lines, brake booster, proportioning valve, master cylinder. Suspension: New rear springs, original front springs, new shocks. Exhaust: Original exhaust manifolds, older exhaust system, but it sounds great and does not leak. Hideaways: Original switch, new grills, new actuators, original vacuum canister. Hideaway system is complete and works as it should.
