Vehicle Detail
1990 Jeep YJ Wrangler 128999 Actual Miles! 2 Door Hard Top If you love Jeeps and always wanted to do a SBC conversion, take a look at this YJ! All of the hard work has been done. Ready for all of the stuff you want on your rig! I bought this Jeep at the end of last year. I have not put more than a few thousand miles on it. I love it, and my wife loathes it. She has developed serious back problems so getting in and out of this vehicle is no good for her. I bought it from a man who used it to take his grandchildren to the beach in the summer time. He bought it without a top so he kept it in his garage. He owned it for about 2 years. He bought it from the guy who had all of the work done to it. This Jeep came from Texas. I have a copy of the Craigslist.com advert. from when he bought it, April 2011. The story is, is that a Vo-Tech class rebuilt this engine, now 8000 miles ago. The school also did the paint and suspension work, so I am told. It is a believable story, as the components used are quality, good value items. Not over-done, but not under-done either. This Jeep has some balls! It starts up easily and the engine runs great! It keeps up with traffic and still has room for plenty more! It is not sluggish! 350 Small Block Chevrolet Engine Edelbrock RPM Performer Aluminum Intake 650 CFM Edelbrock Carburetor – Manual Choke I do not know what the cam spec is. It is a little aggressive. Fender Well Headers piped to a 2 to 1 Catalytic Converter, then 1 Muffler out the back. Has current NJ Inspection sticker on windshield! TH350 Automatic Transmission with a B&M Floor Shifter. Shifts very well! The $25 sheet metal torque converter guard is missing. NP231 Transfer Case shifts into 2H N 4H 4L. Slight noise coming from T case area. I am not sure if this noise is from the TC or maybe a drive shaft u-joint. The drive shaft angle looks good. No SYE has been installed. Stock Front & Rear Axles with 3.07 gears A new Brass 3 Core Radiator was installed when this engine was put in. Engine wring is pretty simple. Standard electronic ignition. Simple GM alternator. Push Button Start. Column Ignition Key still kills electrics and locks wheel, as it should. This YJ has no frame rot at all! The sheet metal has no cancer. No bondo! This is not to say that it doesn’t need paint. It was repainted in 2011, not well. It looks fine where it has held on, but it looks like the original finish was not properly prepared for re-paint, so it has flaked off in some spots. The original silver paint looks great! The 2011 rehab included painting the inside with bed-liner paint. The liner paint looks ok. Suspension Lift – The Jeep has 31” x 10.50 x 15” tires on it as shown. The bottom of the rocker panels measure 24 1/2” off level ground. The existing spring lift shackles are 7 ½” center-to-center bolt. The leaf springs are 2 ½” lift springs. The track bars have been removed; the sway bars are still on. Power Steering & Power Brakes, Tilt Column The rear brake shoes were replaced about 4k miles ago. I replaced the front rotors and pads a few hundred miles ago. I also replaced the front axle u-joints. No vacuum hoses connected to the front axle locker. A cable locker would be the best bet for the next owner! Heater & Defroster Works Great. I put in a new heater core 2 months ago. A Radio/CD head unit is installed. It sucks. One speaker in jeep held to floor by speaker magnet under the drivers seat. Jeep needs new antenna, mast is MIA. Roll Bar has had pipe added from floor to where the extension meets the windscreen frame. Gauges - The original tachometer does not work with this engine, it’s disconnect. The Speedometer does work. It is a cable driven unit connected to the transfer case. The fuel gauge works! The voltmeter gauge works! The clock works, but not all of the time! Common mechanical aftermarket Oil Pressure, Temperature, and Volt Meter Gauges have been installed under the dash lip, these all work. 20 Gallon Plastic Fuel Tank with new sending unit! Double Tube Rear Bumper with 2” Receiver Homemade Front Stinger Bumper with Mile-Marker Winch. This bumper I had on a previously owned YJ. I just put this one on and never connected the power leads to the battery. This bumper has tabs for fog lamps. It also has a removable Tow Bar for flat towing. Front seats are Grey Leather from a Saab 9000 series. They have heat, but never wired them in. The rear seat is standard fold and tumble Jeep. Tires are 31” x 10.50 x 15” on painted stock steel rims. Tires have lots of tread but are dry rotten. These tires have held air since I brought it home last year. Perhaps they have tubes or just slimed. Black Bikini Top Included A pair of full steel doors that have been cut down for summer use. These doors still need paint and paddle latches installed. Ask for more pictures if you want them. Ask questions if you have them. This Jeep is now in Atlantic City NJ 08401 Please send me a message through the eBay message system to schedule an appointment to see this Jeep.
