Vehicle Detail
This Studebaker Champion is a 1950 "bullet nose" These were only made 2 years - 1950 & 1951. This car is mostly all original. It has the flathead 6-cylinder engine with a 3-speed on the column with overdrive and the famous Studebaker hill holder. The car runs and drives great. It has a power top but it isn't hooked up. The PTO shafts on each side are there and turn when you push the button so am assuming it would work if hooked up by someone who knew how. However, the top raises and lowers easily by hand. All the electrical and gauges work. It appears to have been totally rewired a few years back. The wiring looks like new. The underneath appears to have been cleaned and painted sometime in the past. I see no rust under it. The floor pans look good. The trunk floor , rear fenders, and rocker panels have been replaced at sometime. They appear to have been professionally done and look good. The paint job was done about a year and a half ago. It was sanded, primered, sealed and four coats of single stage acrylic enamel paint applied. The color is the original "Maui Blue". I did have some metal flake put in the paint to add brightness and beauty. It is in great shape except for a small scratch about an inch long on the driver side rear fender and a blemish along the wheel lip on the front passenger side fender. These I have tried to show in the pictures. Most of the chrome has been redone. Bumpers and gravel guard need to be reworked to be show quality. All the trim is nice enough for a driver car. The upholstery is good with no rips or tears. The only exception to the good look is on the seat part of the front seat which shows some very light water stain. Hardly noticeable, but could probably be detailed out at a detail shop. The dash etc. all look good. The carpet is good. In the trunk is the original jack and tools for changing a tire. The spare tire is in the trunk and the original owners manual is in the glove box. The tires are like new and it has all four original hubcaps. I can't say what has gone on with the engine before I got it, but it runs good and doesn't smoke. The car has only been on short drives like 10 miles, but it drives good. It appears to be the correct mileage on the car by looking at the pedal, knobs and steering wheel. This is a fun car to drive and attracts a lot of attention wherever it goes. It is a rare car in good condition. For more information call Charley at 417-926-5846 Local pickup only. Buyer is to pay $1000.00 deposit through PayPal within 48 hours of end of auction.
