Vehicle Detail

Normal 0 MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 1976 Porsche 912E Sunroof Coupe. I have a very well sorted 1976 Porsche 912E for sale. NO RUST. This car is an unmolested original that was repainted in it's original color 20 years ago. Everything on the car is original except the radio (see note about wheels below).Very clean inside and out. With only 2099 ever made, and sold only in the U.S., this is a rare car by any definition. If you're searching for this car you already know most of this. Of the '76 912E's made, only 500 were made with a sunroof, which this one has. There are ~ 201,000 miles on the engine and according to the last owner's records the major engine components were rebuilt in 2010 and the transmission was totally rebuilt in Jan 2012. I've added a new battery in 2013. Adding to its rarity, this 912e has all the emissions intact including smog pump Bosch part# 021 131 601(doesn't have the thermo reactors however) along with original L-jetronics fuel injection and air pump. Original heat exchangers and muffler are in great condition. The engine work consisted of a reseal, including threaded oil galley plugs, pushrod tubes, and anything else that needed to be done while the engine was out. The heads were sent to Fat Performance in California. They checked for cracks (none) and totally rebuilt them with new valves, guides and really worked their magic to make this a strong motor. Receipts for the work included. This car pulls great, drives superb and brakes equally well...whether in town or on highway. This particular model has a Type IV (four cylinder) VW engine (original) and gets impressive gas mileage for a 37 year old car. I typically get in the 30 mpg range for a mix of highway and city driving. I have the original owners manual, car was sold to owner #1 at Carlsen Porsche in Redwwod City/Palo Alto, CA., in addition to a plethora of documentation of the service and owner history during its life. The interior is original with the exception of recovered front seat covers. They look great. Perfect dash. Some carpet wear, but not worth replacing. Door pockets are a little warped, but still function nicely. Small stains on the headliner. New sun visors imported from Germany late 2012. Clock doesn't work. Radio upgraded but otherwise car essentially original. As you will see in the pictures, this 912E is in great shape...but not perfect! As a daily driver it has a few chips, dings and nicks here and there. Nothing that takes away from the enjoyment but something to consider if you're wanting to do concourse exhibiting. Syncos have been replaced along with linkage bushings and shifts like new. Like new strut inserts in the front, and same for the shocks in the rear. Turbo tie rods. The car is lowered by ~ 2" and the wheels pictured on the car are 6"x16" all around original polished Fuchs (4 fronts from 911 SCs) with like new Toyo tires with 90% tread remaining. I have the original 14" Fuchs alloys with Michelin tires that I will swap out. Both sets of tires appear in very good condition. I will sell with both sets of wheels and tires for another $1K. I have many pics that I can email if you are seriously interested. Will show within reason to my residence in the north Dallas area. Good luck on the bidding and feel free to reach out with questions. Also, I have this listed locally and reserve the right to end this auction at any time. If you're interested, don't delay. I am not eager to sell but with a third baby on the way I need to make more room all around...this does not mean I will consider any low-ball offers however. I can afford to keep it financially but am choosing to sell for practical reasons like car seats and garage space. Email me with any questions before bidding. Buyer responsible for all shipping expenses. I will assist in the pick-up but not in the arrangement of transporters. Sold as-is, no warranty is implied or expressed with this listing. Bank wire or COD preferred. Normal 0 MicrosoftInternetExplorer4
