Vehicle Detail
1957 GMC Series 152 pickup. Small back window . Complete body-off frame restoration on an always California truck. Very nicely executed custom build. Has ’55 smoothy style GMC hood (no hood bulges), ’55 Chevy fenders with custom ’55 Chevy chrome grille and headlamp bezels with new Brother’s door hinges. Beautiful oak bed installed. All new glass and new rear slider. This is a sensible, fully streetable, and totally trick build! Has original uncut and unmolested ¾ ton GMC truck frame and rear suspension . Has ’59 ½ ton GMC front axle installed. The ½ ton axle in the front was necessary for the totally cool ventilated 11” GM power disk brake setup that was installed. The brake booster and Corvette-style master cylinder were installed reversed and neatly tucked up into the left frame rail right where the original manual unit was. The access door in the floor of the truck is right where it needs to be. All new brake lines and SSBC silicon fluid too. New .001 press king-pins and premium Timken roller bearings inside and out. So often these trucks end up flatly ruined by people who render them completely unusable on the street by either ‘slamming’ them to the ground with only about 1 inch of ground clearance under the front bumper, or by improperly cutting up the frame and welding in a car subframe which often leads to never-ending alignment problems and a variety of suspension issues that you won’t find out about until long after the sale. No castor or camber problems with this one! All new Orange Truck steering components. Fresh .030 large journal 327 Chevy engine with a sensible (street cam) Very smooth idle. Holley intake with electric choke AFB. Borg Warner T-5 5-speed trans. New Zoom clutch, pressure plate and T-O bearing. New custom Denny’s 3” driveshaft with Spicer 1350 U-joints front and rear. New Currie built Dana-60 with Detroit Tru-Trac and 3.70 gears. Ford big-drum rear brakes provide ample stopping power. 5 on 4 ¾ bolt pattern front and rear for A-R Torque Thrust-II with BFG radials. New full-length Magnaflow glass packs provide that smooth mellow sound as opposed to a loud tinny flowmaster chamber sound makes this truck a true joy to drive anywhere, especially on longer cruises. Custom billet aluminum Arizona Speed instrument panel with all new Autometer instruments. Autowire fuse-block and wiring harnesses used through-out and Sony sound. Everything works!
