Vehicle Detail

1930 Chrysler Business Coupe. Series CJ The current owner purchased this vehicle in 1979 from Virginia. Original drive train is in place. The Inline six cylinder "CJ" Silverdome 195.6 cu. in. engine is stamped with an ID number of: "C CJ3985". It has a casting number of "310229-2" with a casting date of "13130". (January 31, 1930) The coach builder of this coupe was the Briggs MFG Company. It has a body Tag number of: "393-168". There were only 2267 CJ series Business Coupes produced in 1930. The VIN number is: "H427HL". The restoration of this vehicle was done prior to the current owner purchasing it in 1979. The paint colors (Orange and Black) is in very good “driver Condition” showing some of the typical checking and cracking that comes from an older "lacquer" type paint job. This all steel body is very solid with no known rust problems. The passenger's side glass does have a few cracks. Both windows roll up and down without any problems. The exterior chrome and trim is in good condition. It does show some wear, but no major pitting. The chrome on one area of the rear bumper is starting to come off. The vinyl section of the roof is in great shape along with the running boards. The original wooden spoke wheels are in very good condition with no broken or rotten spokes. They have the correct Chrysler center caps installed. Mounted on these wheels are four wide white walls tires that are in good condition. The spare tire that is mounted on the rear of the vehicle also has a WWW tire. The rims are painted orange to match the body color. The interior is in great condition. It was redone in a burnt orange vinyl material. There are no rips, holes, marks, or stains on the seat, door panels or headliner. The dash still has the correct original gauges along with the correct steering wheel and shifter. The nickel-plated interior door handles and window cranks are in very nice condition. Under the hood is the original Inline 6 cylinder engine with a 3 speed manual transmission. The motor compartment for the most part still looks stock. It has the correct 6 volt generator, starter, horn, and Tillotson carburetor. The trunk compartment has misc. parts that have been collected, replaced, or saved over the years. Chrysler was one of the first manufactures to have hydraulic brakes. The master cylinder on this vehicle was recently replaced along with a few brakes lines. The system has been gone over & tested. The vehicle has been in storage for a few years. The car is running and is drivable. Someone may want to go over the vehicle and make sure everything is working correctly before attempting any long trips. The vehicle is in very good driver condition for its age. Please keep in mind this car is being sold "as is". Do not assume anything and please feel free to ask questions you have about the car or come see it prior to auction end. I have listed all I know about it and have tried to be very detailed. Bid accordingly and to win. Car has CLEAR Title.
