Vehicle Detail
Vintage 1973 Suzuki GT380 with only 757 miles on it. I bought the bike about 4 years ago and it ran fine then. I stored it back then and then recently got it out and installed an electronic ignition and installed carb kits along with a carb cleaning. Now I can't get it to run and just don't have the time to work on it any more. I would just like to find someone that is into vintage bikes especially two-strokes like this one. A bike of this nature with that low of mileage would make a perfect restoration project and you just don't see any with this low mileage. I just don't have the time or the patience any longer to do the mechanic work necessary. The bike was apparently won back in 1973 on a radio station raffle of some kind and the guy that won it never rode it. I bought it from the 2nd owner who got it running and then sold it to me. It still has the original tires and everything on the bike is as it came from the factory except for the electronic ignition that I installed. When it was running 4 years ago it ran, shifted, and was tight just like a bike of this low mileage would be. I thought it may be the carbs and purchased 3 new 24 mm mikuni carbs and put them on but it still won't start. The carbs are not exactly like the original but are the same size @ 24 mm. The stock airbox is not currenlty installed but I have it. I had it off while doing the carb work and was going to put it back after I got it to fire up. I also still have the factory points plate. I don't know what's wrong with it but I'm sure the problem can be fixed. Again I just don't have the time to fool with it and my health is declining and would like to find it a good home. Buyer is responsible for arranging any shipping operations. I will assist in loading the bike when shipper arrives. Cosmetically there is some oxidation of aluminum parts and the tank shows some sun fading along with one very small dent in the tank. The chrome shows some rust in places and a small ding in the front fender but overall its a presentable looking bike for being 40 years old. The dent in the tank and front fender appear to be storage related and the bike does not appear to have ever been layed down.
