Vehicle Detail
I want to point out that the title is clear, ebay pulled the add 2-27-13 do to the carfax saying it is salvage, so I had to change this to list. You should have no problems getting it licensed in any state (I had no problem licensing in Washington State) , as it was deemed road worthy. The reason it had to show in carfax as salvage is because the car had been stolen and written off by the insurance company many years ago before the movie (please see my story below), but was recovered after that. This car was screen used in the Fast & the Furious 4th movie. I bought it almost 2 years ago as a nice ride to take to car shows. I purchased it from a car museum who had purchased it from a Universal Studios Auction. I have recently been given the chance to purchase my dream Charger and have to part with some of my toys in order to get it. I will give you all the information I know about the car and if you have any other questions you can contact me or get more pictures. Please serious buyers only. Originally the car was an insurance write off, because it had been stolen. Universal then purchased the car the from the insurance company when it was returned. Universal made 2 cars like this for the movie and used this car for the screen shots and driving sequences. The other car was blown up. It was not driven by any of the major actors, but it was in scenes with them. The car was driven by a charactor named Taz. I can include a blueray copy of the movie (that I used to show people the scenes) if you would like. When Universal was done touring many cars for the movie ( I was able to get many pictures of the car online if you search enough) they auctioned it off and it was purchased with many other movie cars (including other Fast & Furious cars) by a car museum in Volo, Illinios. I purchased it from them in June of 2011 and drove it 1300 miles to my home in Washington state. It was very much the eye catcher the entire trip, even by some staters in Montana whom never gave me a ticket, just wanted to see the car up close. When I got the car it did have a clear title and is street legal now. It does have several dents and the paint is coming off in a couple of spots. If you want those pictures I can send pics of the damaged areas. Whether it was Universal or from the theft in the beginning, it was missing many of the wires for the power windows and sun roof. It was stripped in the inside and had a 3/4 roll cage installed inside, I'm assuming for the movie. It has Sparco sport seats and I added 3 point Sparco seat belts to the seats. I have purchased and rewired the door power windows and locks for both sides. The sunroof has yet to be hooked up. There was so radio or controls for the heat & air, which I have bought but have only hooked up the temperature controls, so now it does have dual climate for both front seats. The original interior color was tan and was painted black and I have the kit to redo theblack, but never got around to it. There is no backseat and metal has been installed to seperate the cab from the trunk. Aftermarket trunk lid. The engine as far as I know has not been altered in any way, but may have had a chip added (I am unsure). Whether it is from a little altering or just the fact that it is so much lighter with interior being changed, it will smoke the tires from a dead stop. Automatic transmission with the ablitity to shift maunually. Water does leak in through the heating vent on the passenger side and through the rear window, though I have had it garaged since I purchased it and it was on display inside the museum before that. Eye attracting 2 tone paint job of Bronze and the original dark gray color. Custom rims painted with bronze which is flaking in spots. It is in storage at my fathers house currently and I am trying to remember the exact tire sizes, the back which I know are 275 45 R19, but the fronts are a narrower and show less sidewall than the backs, also 19"rims. It has been lowered and rides very stiff to keep the wheels from rubbing the wells. It hit the wells when I 1st got it, but I replaced with adjustable coil overs. I am trying to think if there is anything I forgot. It does not have the original steering wheel and has an aftermarket Sparco and the horn doesn't work. 89,000 original miles, does not burn oil or overheat. Runs very good. Aftermarket front end does have damage in the middle on the bottom hid behind license plate. If you have any other qustions please ask. I am open to best offers, but not much less than the asking price, so please don't offer $5000 or $6000 and expect to purchase. Thanks for your interest.
