Vehicle Detail

Relocation forces sell of our classic 1965 Chevy 3/4 ton pick up. Driven a few miles daily, the truck runs great. Brand new front tires and decent rear tires. The truck is completely original and has the HD 327 V8 with 4 barrel carb and 4 speed manual transmission. The windows are perfect, and the rubber seals are in good shape. There are a few dings and dents and few spots of rust, nothing too requiring new panels. For a complete restoration the truck needs the wood replaced in the bed. It's all there and works fine for any use, but is nearly 50 years old. It's running great, just had a complete tune up including plug wires, the brakes are over 75%, and its registered and driven daily. The title is clear. I've had a few questions regarding the date of manufacturer of the truck and the engine size. The truck was made in late 1965 and sold as a 1965. The engine is in fact a 327, and the engine code is either 117086 or 11108SOn Feb-27-13 at 11:02:00 PST, seller added the following information: If you need more pics or information just email me. The rubber in the interior is in excellent condition, door panels and hardware complete, wipers lights, all electrical is working properly. The heater functions, but the blower motor has hung up a few times, I suspect it is the original. The exhaust system is complete and in good shape. The engine does smoke a bit when first started if it has set to long. I suspect this is valve seals or rings, because once warmed up it doesn't smoke a bit.On Mar-01-13 at 08:37:07 PST, seller added the following information: I do not know the exact date of manufacture, the truck was sold in late 1965, and is actually a 1966 model hence the 327 engine and 4 speed transmission. It has dealer equipped dual fuel tanks and is currently registered in Oregon with 2 year tags. The vin number is C2545Z181734. On Mar-03-13 at 22:25:10 PST, seller added the following information: A few last minute questions came to me. Yes, the 327 engine and 4 spd transmission are the original, Yes, in 1965 the 327 V8 was an option in the last part of the year. Do your research before you send me a message that it was not. The 327 is also listed on the interior kick panel tag. The only change that has been made to the engine is a that an internal voltage regulator alternator was installed by previous owner. The steering is very tight and straight. The truck stops without any pulling, it drives smoothly at over 65mph. The truck is excellent candidate for restoration, I have found parts are easily available from a number of sources. The doors open and close like they should, and the body lines and gaps are true. All the exterior trim is complete, It is only being sold due to relocation and we have 3 other vehicles to move. We have started and driven the truck daily. Along with a complete tune-up, the carb and distributor were completely rebuilt. It does not have power steering, power brakes, air conditioning, or any power windows or door locks, and the spare tire was stolen. It is a solid 1965 3/4 ton truck, it drives like one, but it also drives like it should. Yes It is for sale locally and we reserve the right to end the auction at any time. If I've missed any questions you may have, message me and I will try to answer them as quickly as possible.
