Up for bid is my 1979 BMW R65. I am the original owner has less than ~50K miles on it. Original odometer was replaced. Had all fluids changed tuned back in the winter of '04, has been stored in my garage since then. This bike has the San jose reinforced swingarm, front fork brace, dual disc front brakes with stainless steel brake line, dual plugged cylinder heads (really smooths out the engine during acceleration), steering damper, low european racing style handle bars. VDO voltmeter & temperature gauges included. 2 BMW "modern style" travel cases with soft luggage liners, Cyberlite brake light, blinking headlamp modulator, deep oil pan, power outlet for medium sized Widder electric heated vest (included). The original gas tank has pin hole leaks along the bottom, but I have an R65 gas tank (orange colored) for replacement. Bike will need a battery, fluids changed and new tires. A straight forward project bike ready for a spring ride. Bike cost $3500 back in August 1979, not your typical R65 with the addition of dual plugs, reinforced swingarm, deep oil pan, front fork braces along w/ dual disc brakes with stainless steel brake lines, 2 VDO gauges and the newer style BMW hard cases w/ BMW soft luggage liners. Also Crash Bars & dual Fiamm horns. I can store it for 2 weeks as the winning bidder coordinates and schedule shipping, but that will be your responsibility. No Warranty, sold as is. No Returns.
