Vehicle Detail

1954 Willys Jeep M38-A1 Military Jeep Good luck to all the bidders!! M-38A1 Army Jeep Years Produced: 1952-1957 No of Units: 101,488 (80,290 domestic use / 21,198 foreign sales) This was the first appearance of the 'round-fender' Jeep that would eventually become the CJ5. The M38A1 was quite different that the CJ5, having a stronger chassis and reversed front spring shackles, in addition to the military accoutrements such as standardized GI instruments and a 24 volt electrical system. The M38A1 lasted quite awhile in military service. Even after it was replaced by the high-tech Ford M151, they could be seen in OD green as late as the 1970s. In all, 101,488 units were produced, some of which went for export. Up for auction is my 1954 Willys M38A1 military Jeep. This Utility was restored completely a few years ago to include all mechanical including the engine, transmission, and both differentials. The Jeep starts up on the first try each and every time. The following is a list of options as this Willys is currently equipped with: Restored & Fully Operational"Hurricane" F-Head 4-cycle 4 CylinderWarner T90 Transmission5 Brand new Firestone Ground Grip... 7.00 - 16 Heavy Duty 6-Ply Tires 4 Wheel Drive 24 Volt System Working Black OpsRebuilt Drive-trainTow Hooks and Wiring for Trailer Canvas TopNew Tires The M38A1 featured rounded front fenders, a contoured hood, two-piece windshield, top-mounted windshield wipers, and a new "Hurricane" F-Head 4-cycle, 4-cylinder engine and Warner T90 transmission. It had a crew of one and could carry three passengers or 500 pounds payload. This Jeep was driven daily for a while and is used every week in one form or another. It has been meticulously maintained and serviced and it is “old reliable”. It is very easy to operate and drive and it goes down the road straight and true. The body is very solid with no rust issues whatsoever. The passenger side front fender had some minor dents but NO body filler anywhere. As far I can tell everything is fully functional and operational including the black ops lights. And by the way the lights are super bright due to the 24 volt system. This M38A1 is a blast to drive and would be a great addition to any farm, hunting lodge, mountain home, or whatever! All in all, these Willys Army Jeeps are one very rare Classic on the market today! With great looks and huge collect-ability, this would be a wonderful opportunity for someone to not only have a part of history but an appreciating Asset!! Lots of these Jeeps have been crushed or destroyed, but to find one as Rock Solid, unmolested as this can only be a Right Choice. Please email or call with any questions.
