Vehicle Detail
Hello, Up for auction is my 1972 Dodge Sportsman B300 Van, I have owned it for the past 11 years. The van was purchased from a small volunteer fire department in Iowa with 19,000 original miles, it currently show just under 24,000 miles. It has spent more time in a heated garage getting pampered than it has on the road and its obvious. The van is very clean and straight, never any rust, accidents or problems of any kind that I am aware of, goes down the road as smooth and straight as if new. Drivetrain consists of the original 360 engine, 727 torqueflight transmission, Dana 60 4:10 rear. It has new tires all around on 16 inch wheels. I have the original 16.5" wheels and tires that are included if you want (1972 original! and they look new!) as well as two studded winter tires and the big red "wheelen" light bar it came with. I have added some bolt on upgrades to the van such as an air cleaner, Holley carb., Edelbrock aluminum intake, Heddman headers, and a 3" exhaust with welded race mufflers and an "H" pipe. All of the pieces I've removed (air cleaner, carb., intake, exhaust manifolds etc...) are included and are in exellent shape. Van was repainted shortly after I purchase it in order to comply with Michigan law that prohibits government vehicles to "driven" for civilian use. The decals and lettering were removed and it was repainted using 1972 Dodge colors, also every item that could be removed for paint was, glass, door handles, trim, emblems, etc... Not a trace of rust was found, the only bobdy work was the repair of a hole left in the rear drivers side quarter after a large antenna was removed, and a small crease down low on the drivers front fender where it was caught on a garage door track, or so I was told. No other bodywork was needed whatsoever, the usual spots-inner rear wheel wells, rear floor extentions, entry step areas, rockers, etc... are all rock solid, no patches just good old Dodge sheetmetal. Glass is all good, save for a small stone chip up high on the passenger side windshield and out of sight. Grill is perfect, taillights, turn signals etc... are all clear and like new. The interior is good also, gauges are clear and crisp as new, dash is good with the exeption of a master battery switch and a choke cable added by the fire department. It has two bench seats and front buckets, one bench is mint and the other bench and front buckets could be recovered, not that they are near worn out, they are just older vinyl that cracked, not that bad, but, to be perfect...you know. The carpet is als good with the exeption of the front edges where it appears to be fraying, and a couple of small holes where department equipment was removed. I have tried to be as forthcoming as humanly possible in regards to this van, it is a 41 year old van and is not perfect, but I believe that it's as close to perfect as any "driven" vehicle could be. If you are looking for a clean, straight, rust free, lowmileage, Mechanicaly sound, van that will haul people/kids in style and still cost less than a minivan in the same condition with so few miles than this van is for you! If you have any question please feel free to ask. Prefered payment methods are cash in hand, or certified/cashiers check, all funds will be bank verified before the title leaves my hand. I also require a $500 non-refundable deposite from purchaser within 3 days of auctions end. I will not ship overseas, pick-up is winning bidders responsibility, I will help load vehicle and work with shipping company within reason. Thank you for viewing my auction
