2001 Ford Excursion XLT 4WD SPORT UTILITY 4-DR, 6.8L V10 SOHC 20V I purchased this vehicle from Spotsylvania Sheriff’s department in plans to make this my trailer towing vehicle, taking family off road and camping but wife says get rid of it. The vehicle was used by police officer that inspected semi-truck and trailers. It didn’t come with the 3rd row seats. The vehicle seems very solid. The emergency equipment and it's wiring was removed and all the trim work seems to be in the back. I repair the key ignition which was removed by the sheriff’s office. A new electronic key tumbler drum and a programed key have been made but still require the car computer to be reprogramed to the key and the drum to start. The engine cranks and wants to start but until the computer is programed to the key the security system won’t allow it to start. The tires have plenty tread.
