Posting from the house, Bessemer, AL Since I compose all My Truckalogue posts on a Word document in HTML anyway, I'm using portions of this post to compose a listing at eBay for Uncle Bruce's old car - hopefully. For eBay people, this is coming from my personal blog – mytruckalogue (dot) blogspot (dot) com. As I become more familiar with eBay's policies, I'm not sure if a direct link is allowed or not – since I have other ad platforms on My Truckalogue. For My Truckalogue readers, this is item number 150996849208 at eBay. To view this ad on eBay, please go to the eBay website at eBay.com and enter item number 150996849208 in the search box at the top of the eBay home page. (I'm doing the computer work for my 80 year old Uncle Bruce, so when I say "we"....) It took about 6 hours to get this video uploaded to YouTube yesterday, but finally – Glen (Uncle Bruce's right arm) is the guy in the video. Now, I'm pretty sure he's the one who put the sheet metal in the front floorboards – you'll see what I'm talking about in the following pictures. The pictures : ********************************** (I'm doing the computer work for my 80 year old Uncle Bruce, so when I say "we"....) There's a lot of wind noise at the beginning of this video: We aren't sure who the original owner was, but we think Uncle Bruce is probably the 3rd owner. Uncle Bruce bought it (several months ago) from a friend who bought it from an elderly relative who, we think, used the car on a daily basis. We have a bill of sale - titles weren't issued in '56, and they aren't required for antique vehicles in Alabama. We don't have a title. This car is an older restoration, but we don't know when it was done. The interior is fair. The seat covers aren't the original (but they look it to me). Now, I'm pretty sure Glen put the floor mat down, and it needs to be fitted. The white spots you see on top of the front fenders are mirror holes filled with putty. We don't know who put the mirrors in such a weird place, but Glen took them off. The white spots just above the right headlight is a "ding". You may or may not be able to see two big scratches on the hood, but that's what I was trying to capture with my camera. The passenger side window won't roll all the way up - it lacks about 2 or 3 inches - and sometimes that door won't shut. Uncle Bruce said the suspension is in good shape. The transmission is 3 speeds with 1 reverse, on the column - it works good. It has a complete new brake system. (I think Uncle Bruce did this.) It was last driven about a month ago (and for a minute or two on 2/16/13). Update 2/16/13 @ 1:15pm central - Uncle Bruce's handyman and I made a video that's taking forever to upload. In the meantime, I've been asked about rust and other issues. I'm hoping to answer those questions with 32 more pictures that I'm (slowly) uploading now. I've discovered that there's some sheet metal screwed into the front floorboard on both sides. I couldn't get all the way under the car, but I'm not sure the passenger side really needed the sheet metal. The driver's side did need it in at least one place, as you will eventually see. Re the photo that shows the rust on the underside of the driver's floorboard: I brightened it a good bit to show where the rust is. To the motorcycle man: The numbers on the car are #A6UG147475# and 70D-H-BE-9-B-21371P. Uncle Bruce said you could leave it there a year or two if need be. And he does have other cars for sale - $12,000.00 will buy a sharp looking old Model A he spent a lot of time on. He's got a sharp Model T, and an old Chevy truck, etc. All antiques. I'll add that he's got all kinds of stuff you might be interested in - old farm equipment, other old cars/trucks, an old motor for a cotton gin (I think it is), etc. my_truckalogueOn Feb-20-13 at 14:50:22 PST, seller added the following information: $3,000.00 is the reserve price. On Feb-21-13 at 03:36:08 PST, seller added the following information: New reseve is $2800.00. Uncle Bruce and I want this first listing to be successful, but we can't come down any more. Uncle Bruce has this much invested in the car himself.
