Vehicle Detail
This Willys military jeep before me was owned for over 50 years by the same family. That's not to say there is not rust because there is. I tell it like it is so there is no surprises when you pick it up or the transport company picks it up. It won't be hard to get driving as the engine runs good but the previous owner flipped the leaf springs to get more ground clearance but then saw that many things would need to be modified because of that. I suggest to flip the leaf springs back the way the were, get some good tires, a few brake, a few fuel lines, maybe some fresh u-joints and go for a drive on or off road. It's such a part of American history but sadly my apartment complex won't let me work on it even in the back areas. The engine sounds nice and tight with no exhaust smoke using a portable gas can because I haven't cleaned out the original tank. I have the keys for the ignition and the PINK slip (title) and registration from california, back when titles were little squares with the information you needed. It has the five orginal wheels. The tire size on there now are all 7.50 x 16. It has a new temperature gauge so mI could see what the temp was running when it was running at idle for 30 minutes which was between 180 and 195 degrees...excellent. I put the clutch in and put it in each gear and reverse to make sure the gearbox worked smoothly which it did although it was standing still. If I didn't also have so many physical problems I would do this but without a place it's better to pass this on to keep the Willys dream alive. Feel free to use ebay to contact me with questions as buying a vehicle online is scary for some so I want to be forthcoming as possible.
