Good luck to all the bidders!! M-38A1 Army Jeep The M38A1 Utility, 1/4 Ton, 4x4 was introduced in 1952 as the military improvement upon The M38 Jeep. The M38A1 was manufactured by Willys where it was known as the Model MD. The best part is that I'm selling it to the highest bidder at No Reserve. Up for auction is my 1954 Willys M38A1 military Jeep. This Utility was restored completely a few years ago to include all mechanical including the engine, transmission, and both differentials. It has an upgraded 24 Volt system and the Jeep starts up on the first try each and every time. It had a crew of one and could carry three passengers or 500 pounds payload. The M38A1 military jeep is the model that inspired the CJ-5 civilian jeep. It differed from the CJ-5 in that it had a stronger frame and suspension, reversed front spring shackles, standardized military instruments, and 24-volt electrical system. This Jeep was driven daily for a while and is used every week in one form or another. It has been meticulously maintained and serviced and it is “old reliable”. It is very easy to operate and drive and it goes down the road straight and true however top speed is around 45 mph.The body is very solid with no rust issues whatsoever. The passenger side front fender has some dents but NO body filler anywhere. As far I can tell everything is fully functional and operational including the black ops lights. And by the way the lights are super bright due to the 24 volt system. This M38A1 is a blast to drive and would be a great addition to any farm, hunting lodge, mountain home, or whatever! All in all, these Willys Army Jeeps are one very rare Classic on the market today! With great looks and huge collect-ability, this would be a wonderful opportunity for someone to not only have a part of history but an appreciating Asset!!
