SPECIAL ORDERED EXECUTIVE MUSCLE CAR 1969 DODGE POLARA 500 CONVERTIBLE 1 of 573 PRODUCED ORIGINAL SURVIVOR CAR. ONE OWNER. 69,000 ORIGINAL MILES. For your consideration, I'm offering my 1969 Dodge Polara 500 convertible, 1 of 573 built. This car is an original survivor. It has 69,000 original miles. I purchased this car from the original owner. He and his wife special ordered the car in Kelso, Washington in 1969 at Polack Brothers Dodge. They had to wait aprox. 5 months for Dodge to build it. I have full documentation from the original order sheet, to the Dodge factory invoice, the Chrysler Co. Broadcast/Build sheets, and the original application for title etc., etc. The car was driven from 1969 to 1979 (ten years) and then parked in the family garage. It was not seriously driven until I purchased the car when the original owners went into retirement. They did start the car and drive it around the block, but never drove it long term. It was parked for almost THIRTY years in the garage until I bought the car and returned it to total road worthy condition. A full tune up, with all components replaced. New carb, belts, hoses, thermostat, radiator cap, radiator cleaned, fuel pump, fuel tank cleaned, new shocks, tires, master cylinder, battery, full chassis lube, transmission service, differential service, etc. etc. It has the original license plate that was issued to the car in 1969 and the original vehicle license tabs/tags from it's last registration in 1979. This Polara 500 convertible is highly original, with mostly original paint. Original top with no rips, tears or flaws, it looks amazing. Original interior is very nice with the drivers seat needing stiching and one seam on the passengers side. I believe the rear of the car and deck lid have been repainted. It runs very, very strong, and drives wonderfully. No shakes or rattles, and pulls with plenty of power. It's as quick as my Road Runner was. I have been collecting C body Chryslers for 25 years and this is one of the most original, unmolested, cars that I have had the pleasure to own. The exhaust system is original and sounds well with a deep rumble Everything works on this car, from the trunk light to the AM 8-track Deluxe Speaker Stereo system. This is a turn key car, that can be driven anywhere with confidence. Convertible Big Block MoPars in original surviror condition are rare to find, and this one is that. + Note ALL components replaced have been kept no matter how small, from the original fuel pump, to the original date coded belts, hoses, clamps, thermostat, carb etc,. etc,. ALL NUMBERS MATCHING. e.g., body numbers, engine numbers, transmission numbers, rear end, carb. etc. etc. This is as close to "new" as you can get for a 44 year old vehicle. Ask for photos and I will gladly email them to you!!!On Feb-10-13 at 11:22:59 PST, seller added the following information: I have had a few questions asked about the body. It is 97 percent rust free. There is one rust issue on the rear top of the deck lid, drivers side where the top of the rear qtr. pannel meets the body seam. If you know your C-body MoPars, then you know this is a common issue with almost all fuselage Chrysler products. I chose not to repair it as it's isolated, and I can live with it. Other that that, the car is rust free. No rocker rust, no seam rust, no qtr. rust, no rust other than minor suface rust on the undercarriage and suspension components. As this is a 44 year old car, it has it's share of dings, road chips and scratches that come with being 44 years old. Inspections are welcome and encouraged, come look at and drive the car.
