Vehicle Detail
I have owned this Jeep for around 3 years. I have fixed many things on it over the years. When I bought the Jeep I replaced the entire braking system, everything. I added the '70s "boobie" grille because the original one was missing. I recently replaced the alternator, plugs, plug wires, cap, rotor, and installed an electric fan. It has been VERY reliable transportation for me. I drove it 6 hours each way between West Virginia and Ohio dozens and dozens of times. It has a very rare Stewart Warner Stage 3 gauge set. I bought and installed these as they came available on Ebay. I lack installing the fuel gauge because I had not acquired the required sender yet. The gauges go for over $300 on Ebay now, if you can find them all. I am including the complete factory under-dash air conditioner. Everything, condenser, compressor, hoses, everything except for fasteners. It has 2 studded snow treads on the back with about 50% tread left, 2 Kumho road venture ATs on the front with about 50% tread left. The spare is a similar Kumho. There is typical body rust for the era of Cherokee. None too terrible, but it is there. The tailgate works except for the window handle, that is, the splines in the handle are stripped (not too uncomon). The handle is gettable new from places like BJ's for around $50 or much less at a yard.. Right now the window is braced in the "up" position. Engine has a Weber carb which works good, manual choke. It dribbles a little oil. I added the electric fan to help the mileage. It gets around 25MPG on the highway because of the 2.73 rear ends in it. Yes, that is a mighty tall gear set. Speaking of gears, the only real annoying issue with the Jeep is that the reverse idler gear lost some teeth. This happened prior to me owning it. I just parked around the issue or pushed it back. I did replace the transfer case about a year ago and it works great. It has a T176 transmission in it and you can get them for not much $ on Craigslist. I have the name and number for a rebuilt unit for $450. I never replaced it because it was not ever a terrible issue for me. The windshield is cracked and it includes a new OEM gasket for your replacement. It has 4 (pretty good) speakers but no radio. Minor dents and dings, tears and stuff that are typical for the age and use of the vehicle. It includes a small pile of parts and a dealer service manual on CD. I would not hesitate to take it anywhere. If it makes it over $1500 I'll buy the purchaser a full tank of gas! The boilerplate stuff: Pickup only in Millersport, Ohio 43046 $500 deposit via Pay-Pal within 24 hours of auction close. remainder in cash in person at time of pickup. Must be picked up within 7 days of auction end. NO EXCEPTIONS. I strongly encourage buyers to inspect prior to bidding. I will be around for the duration of the auction. Send me a message and we can figure it out. No refunds. No claims to fitness for any task.
