Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is a convertible 1971 Ford Mustang with a 351C, Power Top, Power Disc, A/C, and many other options. The car has a rebuilt motor and transmission, and is a wonderful driver quality car that is very reliable! The engine has about 5,000 miles on the rebuild and starts up and idles smooth. No smoking or knocking and no leaks! The power top works, the gauges and lights all work, and she is just a real pleasure to drive. The car had the drivers floor pan replaced before I got the car, and other than a few small spots of rust she is in wonderful condition. I have most of the original paperwork from the dealer like the Window Sticker, owners manual, and other documents that I took a picture of. The car was originally a 351C car but, with 4 valve heads and a 4 speed transmission. The previous owner after having to run premium gas all the time switched the car to the 351C that's in the car now with 2V heads and a FMX transmission. The conversion was done very well and with a lot of care. This car was very highly optioned, and a convertible with factory A/C is pretty rare. The A/C works and blows out cold. She does have a small leak as she needs Freon about every year. The car has lots of new parts that I will cover later, and the car will be sold to the highest bidder and there is " NO RESERVE". Please email me with any questions that you may have about the car! VIN: 1F03M138716 Engine/ Trans: The engine is a rebuilt 1971 ( date Correct ) 351 Cleveland that has a 2V carb sitting up on top. The motor has about 5K on her but, it took about 5 years to get 5k on the car as she is a weekend driver. The car has power steering, that does have a slow drip, power disc brakes, dual exhaust, and A/C. The car has a new radiator, new water pump, new fuel pump, new belts, and hoses along with a recent tune up. The trans is a smooth shifting FMX with a shift kit in the trans. The trans is sealed up nice and tight with no drips and has the same amount of miles on the trans since she was rebuilt also. The rear end is a 9", with 3:23 gears. The rear end is a limited slip rear end. Interior/ Exterior: The interior is in very good shape for having been redone about 5 years ago. The seats are good showing minimal wear, and no rips. The carpet is good with a few light spots, the dash bezel is excellent, as well as all the door panels. The gauges all work just fine, all the light work, blinkers work, and the radio works too. The horn has decided no quit and I will look into that as she worked 2 weeks ago. The windows all roll up and down ok, and the doors shut pretty darn good too. All the seatbelts are good and work just fine too. The power top runs fine with no leaks. The exterior shows very well for a older paint job. The Mach 1 stripes are painted on, and the only dent is in the trunk lid as shown I the pictures. The cars body is VERY STRAIGHT!! The fenders, doors don't show any signs of rust but the passenger wheel lip has some small rust bubbles. Both the rear lower quarters show some small areas of old bondo which was most likely old rust repairs. The trunk appears pretty solid overall, which is surprising since it's a convertible. The shock towers and frame rails are all good, as well as the floor pans. The drivers pan was replaced in the past, and it was not a great job. The previous owner said it was done in the 70's, and that what it looks like. The floor is very solid along with the fenders aprons being in good shape also. The car has brand new tires and a recent brake job also. The upgraded original hubcaps are still in very good condition for there age too. The car is a Daily Driver type car! The winning bidder is required to pay a $500 non refundable deposit due within 24 hours of winning the car! The car is being sold " As Is" due to it's age. The deposit must be paid through Paypal. The remaining balance is due within 5 days of the auction closing, and the final payment may be made with a Cashiers check, wire transfer or cash in person. The car must be picked up within 2 weeks of the auction closing, and my zip code is 89131 for shipping purposes. Please email me with any questions, and good luck!!On Feb-01-13 at 17:47:56 PST, seller added the following information: In regards to the paint job, its about 8 years old and was done by the previous owner. There are small chips here and there in the paint as she was not a trailer queen. The door jambs and under the hood and trunk were all painted also. The car is not perfect by any means, but a solid daily driver that receives a lot of attention when I take her out and about. I am willing to listen to all reasonable offers for the car, and I do have the option to end the car early for the right price. Please do not ask what I am looking to get for the car, you make a offer and we will go from there. Thanks for looking!
