Vehicle Detail
This is a 1971 El Camino that is rut free. It was restored some years back and isn't show quality but a very solid car that's been painted red and gold with the tan interior. There are a few chips and scratches, nothing major but going from a show car. The bed of the el camino is in excellent shape and has been rhino lined the similar tan color staying with the theme of red and gold. Power steering power disk runs and drives excellent. I believe this have been a 350 car originally. The current engine is a real GM Performance 502 crate engine with 3900 miles on it, yes the $10,000 dollar one when youre done with everything. Ceramic headers 400 turbo transmission, 12 bolt posi rear end with boxed control arms. Im not a big el camino fan but if I had a Chevelle or Camaro Id transfer these items and sell the el camino but I don't and with 6 other cars, none of them are chevy's for this excellent set up. Has the 850 carb and proper distributer that is called for by GM, electric fuel pump, huge 4 core radiator, Flowmaster mufflers that end at the rear axle, tach and gages, and air shocks. This car drives excellent and I wouldn't hesitate to drive it anywhere. Aftermarket rims and BFG tires. We added a little more timing to it because of the altitude here in Denver and its a flat out monster, a Denver car. Original internals so no cam change or anything like that. Just so there is no emails asking for the price, the reserve is $8k. The deluxe version of this engine is close to 9k but you still don't get everything that's been added here. I would and guess will use it in one of my other cars but like chevy with chevy and ford with ford so this engine in an olds will work and am ok going that route if it doesn't sell. Ive never driven one of these crates before and was pleasantly surprised. I have this advertised locally and reserve the right to end at anytime if I get my price. Trading up or down locally for Olds 442 Buick GS or GTO also but if the reserve is met here, I will sell here and let auction run out. Will be adding more photos. On Feb-02-13 at 21:56:07 PST, seller added the following information: Added photos and will describe additionally what I see from show condition to answer multiple questions - body is straight but a dent on the tail gate and rear bumper as shown. The vinyl top would need to be replaced (starting to come loose around the edge), there are 3 areas where the paint is chipped off (pass rear quarter wheel opening, tail gate, and drivers front fender extension above the headlight. There is no rust in the quarter or fenders even from the underside but lets face it, the money is in the drive train. It does have and needs the electric fuel pump, moroso and or aftermarket oil pan with the extra material hanging below the crossmember, and a thicker than I have seen front sway bar. Air shocks do not leak and has a dash pad because of 3 cracks on it. Ill answer any other questions by email if needed. On Feb-02-13 at 21:58:35 PST, seller added the following information: There is moisture under the drivers front and pass rear from washing it not because of leaking.
