Up for auction is one of the most unique and rare cars ever produced. The Bricklin Safety Vehicle 1, commonly known as the SV-1 for short. This example is one of only 2,850 total cars that were produced over the manufacturer's three year run. This car is a 1975 example and is in the color Safety Red. The vehicle is powered by the great Ford 351 Windsor V8. This car has been in our ownership for about four years. The past three years it has undergone restoration and modification. This car was an actual and very lucky barn find. The car's previous owner had the car repainted from Safety Orange to Red. The body and paint are in very good condition. The car is just showing some minor signs of its age. The car's wheels were polished and fitted with brand new BF Goodrich tires. These tires are still practically brand new. Since completion of the vehicle, it has only been driven about 1,000 miles. The Ford engine runs very strong and the transmission shifts just fine. Also, the Air Conditioning Compressor was replaced with a brand new one. The system was then recharged. The car is drivable and very comfortable. When we found the car, it had already been converted from hydraulic to air powered doors. The air cylinders, air compressor, and air lines were upgraded to more modern pieces. The interior was restored and upgraded the most. New carpet pad was glued down, followed by new brown carpet. The carpet used is a genuine reproduction carpet set and looks great. New seats were also fitted to the car. They are leather power adjustable, and heated seats out of a Porsche 944. They work and look great. They are a fantastic and comfortable addition to the car. Also added to the car was a custom built center console. In addition, the car also has a professionally installed remote start system. This car is complete and will come with the original seats and radio. Although this car is great, it has some minor issues. The car's engine does leak a little oil and coolant. But it is a very small amount. The only other issue with the car is that the driver's side window pops out of the track from time to time. This is still an extremely rare car, and they were never perfect, even from the factory. It is regretfully for sale due to storage issues. So it MUST GO!
