Vehicle Detail
Normal 0 0 1 285 1625 13 3 1995 11.1539 0 0 0 1979 Jeep CJ-5 “Silver Anniversary” Renegade The most sought after CJ ever built. The production was very limited with only 120 - 1,000 ever built and only 25 left in existence, and she is also in the Jeep Silver Anniversary Registry. At 99% original and only 38,000 documented original miles, this is a rare find and coming from an 82-year old man who owned it since 1982 and purchased it from his best friend (see picture). She has been in storage almost her entire life and is ready for a new home. This Jeep looks like it should be on an open-country Montana ranch! It has the original AMC 304 V8 engine mated to a T150 3-speed transmission and heavy-duty package. She has factory tilt wheel, tack and clock, and original AMC AM/FM Cassette radio. She has the full gauge package and everything works. It is cold natured in starting and the clutch has a little chatter, but it runs and drives good, but has a little miss and I don’t know what it is. Overall condition of the Jeep is very good to excellent and is only missing the original carpet. If you put the original carpet back in, the interior would look almost new except for a little wear on the driver’s seat (see picture). There is only one rust spot on the center of the windshield. There is also a little brown rust preventative around the windshield that Mr. Hendricks had put on years ago (it appears to be rust, but it is not rust). Other than that, there is no rust other than patina on the hood from a 1979 original paint. Floor pans are excellent also. She has a 9000 lb. Ramsey Winch up front and the original Good Year Tracker PG Spare Tire on the back from 1979. It also has the original Witco top and doors and it is in very good condition except for the back window has a slight fade and two of the window seams on the doors need to be sewn, but other than that, very nice. It has all five original Silver Wagon Wheels. This Jeep has an enormous amount of character and patina! It is a completely matching numbers’ Jeep and will sell to the highest bidder. I will be happy to discuss or answer any questions regarding this Jeep.
