1968 Chevy El Camino SS 396 project car. This is a 100% true 396 SS. Vin # is 138808Z154335. It has around 92K miles on it. Looks to be mostly original and probably has never been restored. Has been sitting for many years and will need a complete restoration. The 396 engine is complete and numbers matching. The engine does not run. Transmission is not original, looks to be a turbo 400 automatic with the original floor shifter. This car is from California. The frame is good and rolls very easily on its own. There is a pretty good amount of body rust, but not horrible. There are some pinholes on the roof along with some decent rust throughout the car (see pics). The interior is rough but does have air conditioning (no components under the hood though) and the tilt steering wheel. The rear floorboards are shot but it does come with replacement panels that seem like they should fit. All the glass is intact. There is no title for this car; it will be sold on a bill of sale only. I have no paper work for it. The tires will hold air long enough to load it onto a trailer. No, you can’t hop in and drive it home, but this could be a very good start for someone looking for a complete true SS and not a clone. Could be a well worthwhile project or maybe a good parts car. Hopefully somebody will get this car back to where it should be. This car is sold as is with no warranties expressed or implied. I can deliver the car for an added fee. You are more than welcome to come see the car in person prior to bidding. A $200 non-refundable deposit is due within 24 hours of the end of the auction. The remainder is due in cash within 7 days of the auction end. The car must be picked up within 7 days unless prior arrangements are made.
