I am offering for sale my 1961 Chevrolet Impala, 2 door hardtop ( Bubbletop ). I hate to let her go but poor health forces us to do things we don't necessarily want to do. The chevy has the original ( rebuilt ) 283 cubic inch engine that is been gone through and been equipped with a R.V cam. The engine is equipped with a Holley aluminum intake and a new Edelbrock 600 cfm carb. This engine runs excellent and it sounds soooo good it can make you wet you're britches ! The transmission has been upgraded to a GM 350 turbo with a mild shift kit . It shifts firmly but wont't shake your dentures out . The rearend is the original unit that is in excellent condition with probably a 3;50 gear. All gauges, heater and wipers work as well as all lights signals etc. The body on this car is to say the least, Excellent ! The color is 1961 Chevy Arbor Green Metallic, base coat,clear coat and is one of the best paint jobs you'll see in a long time, including under the hood, trunk lid and door jambs, no short cuts taken here. The glass is all tinted and in excellent condition with no chips, scratches or blems. All window felts are in great shape as well as rubber seals around doors, trunk lid etc. The trim is also a 9.5 out of a 10. No dings, bends, tears or corrosion. Body side moldings and bumpers are straight as an arrow. as are the headlight and tailight bezels grille and hood trim . The car does have the SS badging on the rear lid and side coves but it was not an SS. The interior carpet is dark green loop with no tears, rips or fading. The seats and door panels are green vinyl and tweed type inserts and door panels are original with no blemishes. The inside handles, window handles and trim are in excellent condition. The car has been lowered with CPP dropped spindles with power disc brakes up front and lowered coils in the rear with drum brakes. The car does also have power steering ,using a GM 605 box. The wheels and tires have approximately 2500 miles on them. They consist of Billet Specialities Wheels 18s and 20s and Nitto Extreme 235/40 ZR 18 on the front and Nitto Extreme 275/85 ZR 20 on the rear.. This car shows 64850 miles on the meter and I have no reason to believe that there are any more miles on it, the body, including quarters, hood lip, headlight surrounds etc are in excellent condition, the glass and trim are beautiful and if you're looking for a nice 61 bubbltop and a reasonable price, you have found it ! Things that need attention : Trunk lid torsion bar needs adjusting , right signal does not self cancel P/S it also has flowmaster exhaust, Billet Specialities Steering wheel and others things that I'm sure I'm forgetting.
