Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is a 1966 Ford Mustang with it's original 289 and a 3 speed automatic transmission. This has been a Nevada car for some time now, and that shows with the lack of rust on the car. The car is a running and driving project as she sits. The car has manual steering, manual drum brakes, and is very close to being complete! The car is being sold as a project as she is not ready for the road yet. The car starts right up, idles smooth, no knocking or smoking. The car was a daily driver until about a year ago when the car was going to be restored. You can drive the car on a test drive, and you will see she drives very well, but you should just do a once over before she is put back on the road again. The car will be sold to the highest bidder as there is NO RESERVE!! The car should be trailered to it's destination to be safe. I will cover the car in the next few catagories, and if you have any questions please email me and I will answer them ASAP!! This is not a car full of bondo, she is all metal which is very hard to find. These cars are getting very tough to find, the price is cheap so don't miss out!! VIN/ DATA TAG: 6T07C155600.... 65A/ M/ 26/ 26J/ 13/6/6. Data tag is still on the original door, but is hard to read. Buck tag is under the hood also. Engine/ Trans: The engine is the original 289 with a 1966 date code. It has a 2V carb on it that works decent. The car has manual steering, drum brakes, and the original style single exhaust. I flushed the fuel lines, put a new fuel pump on the car and she fired up right away. She runs good, with no over heating issues here in the desert. The car shows 00050 miles and that is not the true mileage of the car or the motor. The engine runs pretty healthy but, I do not know when she was last rebuilt. You can hear he run and you can take her on a test drive if you wish and you will see she runs pretty good! The transmission shifts nice and smooth, and is all sealed up. The heater is bypassed as you can see in the picture, and I did not check to see if the blower motor worked. Like I said she is a project with a lot of potential. New Parts: New exterior mirrors, new front windshield and new gasket, new rear window and gasket, and the front windshield is Ford dealer installed glass. New front valance and rock guard, new front turn signals and turn signal lenses. New radiator and hoses, and a new battery too. Interior/ Exterior: The interior has some pieces that were removed for restoration, like the kick panels, and door panels, etc. As some of the parts were not worth saving. The seats are there but, need some new covers. The gauges all work just fine and read correctly. The lights all work correctly, as do the turn signals. The carpet is worn out, but there is dyna mat under the carpet that was installed by the previous owner. She is a project but, the nice thing is that she is not a rust bucket at all. The exterior is in decent shape, the floor pans are both good, with just a little rust in the toe boards that have not made it through the pan. The trunk looks great as does the inner fenders of the car. The doors are in good shape with no rust in the normal areas. The right rear quarter panel has a very small rust spot at the bottom but, the left quarter is in good shape. The car does not appear to have ever been in a accident as the fame rails look great. The left quarter has a dent in her but, the nice thing is that the quarts are metal and there in no signs of bondo in the car which is great. the body lines overall are very good as the doors open and close well. The hood has some old body work, and should be redone, or get a new hood which is cheap. The car is a project type car! The winning bidder is required to pay a $500 non refundable deposit due within 24 hours of winning the car! The car is being sold " As Is" due to it's age. The deposit must be paid through Paypal. The remaining balance is due within 5 days of the auction closing, and the final payment may be made with a Cashiers check, wire transfer or cash in person. The car must be picked up within 2 weeks of the auction closing, and my zip code is 89131 for shipping purposes. Please email me with any questions, and good luck!!
