Hello. Their are several features that distinguish the 1983 VW Vanagon camper bus from prior years. In later 1983 some models cameout with more reliable 1.9-liter water-cooled fuel injected engine. It has standard four speed manual transmission. Equiped with power brakes,rack pinion steering. Refridgerator and stove and water all work as it should. This VW runs and drives great. The van has all original paint,interior and engine. I have the two bumper ends being installed before winner pics her up. The interior is in good condition, no rips or tears in apolstery. The one thing it will need is a new pop up canvas or repaired.. Some kids at campground were vandalizing tents and popups with knifes. Got a big cut on drivers side canvas. The body has no dents or damage too it. Just sun faded from california sun, probably be buffed out. We bought it in 2004 from california. Since been in wisconsin never seen winter, stored in doors. Their one nickel size surface spot rust under window on drivers side. No rust underbody and on frame. One the cleanest ive seen. The things it will need eventually are pop-up canvas, The windshield has a crack in it, not in view of driver. Outside door handle broke. You can still open it from inside. All maintance kept up regurly.At 98,000 miles had rebuilt motor that costed $2,500. At 125,000 miles new clutch put in that costed $950. Have all invoices for repairs. Done by Certified vw mechanics.
