Vehicle Detail

Reluctantly selling my 1967 JAGUAR 420G that was flooded in my driveway during Sandy's high tide here in Belle Harbor NY. Over the last year I had invested aprox. $7k in mechanical repairs. I show the most recent repair bill. This Jag started every time and ran well and reliably until the storm. It has an actual 83175 miles on the odometer.IT IS NOT CURRENTLY RUNNING.This is a very solid automobile with perfectly straight body panels. NO RUST THROUGH EVER that I can find ANYWHERE on the body! The rockers and pans are amazingly good and the undersides of the doors are perfect. The carpeting is original and still has no wear at the drivers heel. This 420G comes with sunroof and FACTORY AIR CONDITIONING (Factory trunk unit). All trim is there, including the hubcaps and are in very good condition. No damaged glass or lenses. Bumpers are free of dings, and have just about perfect chrome.. The car needs a COMPLETE REPAINT since the old black English black lacquer finish was already "spidering" and beginning to peel before the storm! The rust you see on the hood, roof, and trunk lid are all minor and are only superficial on the surface and these places have been temporarily sprayed with rust inhibitor. Amazingly the wood trim in the car remains excellent as the images show. Not a hint of any peeling anywhere and most surfaces including the rear picnic tables are extraordinary! The trunk floor lining is dirty but not worn or holed and should clean up well. The trunk lid is missing one flat cardboard panel. I took the sun visors off to re-cover them, and they are complete and come with the car. The two open seams shown on the drivers seat were the damage to what was a great interior. There is nothing missing to my knowledge except for the chrome center pieces for the windshield and rear light, which I had, but now cannot locate, so unless I come up with them you should assume they are missing. I have two original factory sets of keys. Ask all questions before bidding as this is a car being sold AS IS and for restoration only ...with NO refunds or adjustments of the winning bid for ANY reason. Do not bid (without contacting me first) unless you have 10 or more POSITIVE feedbacks or have withdrawn your bid on ebay in the last 3 years,..and you INTEND TO PAY FOR THE CAR IN FULL AND IN CASH and remove it WITHIN a week after the auction..A Paypal deposit of $200 (non refundable) required within 24 hours or item will be relisted immediately. I have attempted to describe the Jaguar as well and as accurately as I can and show its positives and negatives but inspection is recommended if you need additional assurance . AGAIN: INSPECTION IS BEFORE THE END OF THE AUCTION and NOT AFTER IT IS SOLD so please do not arrive here to "look it over before you decide to pay" I have additional pictures and will take specific images if needed ,where reasonable and weather permitting . The car is in Belle Harbor NY 11694 On Jan-06-13 at 10:17:46 PST, seller added the following information: NOTICE: I have located the missing chrome plated brass center clips for the windshield and the rear light. Still trying to locate the two Jaguar 420G factory repair manuals that were removed from the trunk to dry out! Might add that I also had the valves adjusted and the SUs tuned and some other work done within the last 24 months with almost no mileage accumulated during this period. On Jan-06-13 at 13:45:19 PST, seller added the following information: Additional. The "VIN" for those interested: Car no. G1D77498BW Engine no. 7D57535 9 Trans no. 24792 Body no. 4D57417 On Jan-07-13 at 11:27:29 PST, seller added the following information: IMPORTANT: Forgot to mention that this car is being sold a with a regular New York State transferable registration!Also...I will try to work with the buyer regarding my one week removal condition, if buyer contracts a "reliable" transporter within a couple of days after the auction ends.I understand the difficulties dealing with them and will respect the buyers valid efforts to cooperate. My neighborhood is a quiet residential one but I cant leave the car on the street for a long time and right now Ive still got a big dumpster in my driveway! On Jan-08-13 at 07:08:38 PST, seller added the following information: hhmm! To clarify what I thought I had expressed adequately---- "The Jaguar is not currently running" indicates... that this Jaguar DOES NOT RUN or, IS NOT RUNNING NOW after getting very wet, etc.AND will need the attention of someone very knowledgeable -I'd say a Jaguar mechanic to fix it nicely.Happy to respond to any questions!Thank youOn Jan-08-13 at 20:04:46 PST, seller added the following information: Last thoughts on transaction (I hope).Ive decided to accept either personal or Certified Check, which must have cleared for at least a week before pick up,or Postal Money Orders,if cash is a problem for buyer sending a transporter. Comments: Jaguar 420G signifies that it has the large 4.2 litre engine and not the 3.8 as in the MKX . Very few 420Gs were produced making left hand drive examples quite scarce and I have seen a 1967 420G grill (different from the MKX) for sale in Britian (nice shape like mine) for nearly $1000US recently.
