Up for bidding on a snow packed New Years day in No. Central WV is a very nice 1964 Chevrolet Belair. The engine is the 235 CID straight 6 cylinder coupled to a standard 3 speed transmission -- both overhauled and in good shape. Spider gears and side bearings replaced in differential. Shifts and drives as it should. Entire fuel system redone, including new gas tank, fuel pump, and carburetor. Re-painted in original blue and white -- a few very small paint bubbles (difficult to see) in remote places. All chrome and stainless trim original, re-plated, or replaced as necessary -- some pitting on pot metal door handles. Newer interior including seats, carpet, and door panels -- head liner and kick panels original -- no rips or tears. Exhaust system fine. Twelve volt electrical system conversion accomplished and a newer AM/FM radio installed -- original radio available. Rear leaf springs rebuilt along with installation of visor and traffic light viewer. Wheel cylinders replaced, brake lines inspected and replaced as needed. Horn intermittent. Wide 6.70 X 15 white wall tires installed -- almost no wear to date. All glass is okay -- no cracks. However, vent windows and frames showing some age on bottom edges -- still quite presentable. Odometer reading obviously incorrect -- actual mileage unknown. Most but not all restoration accomplished in 2009. Garaged for several years when not in use. Body repairs limited to small patches in front floor pans and bottom of rear quarter panels behind rear wheels. Most vehicles nearly 60 years old are not without some minor flaws and this Chevrolet is no exception. However, overall this original vehicle is in very nice shape; it runs well and looks great. Clear title. I have attempted to describe this vehicle as fairly and accurately as possible. Inspection and test driving of vehicle welcomed. Am selling as garage space is a premium and limited at this time. Also, due to garage as well as health concerns, other vehicles (last 5 pictures) will likely be liquidated in the current year. After picture taking, this 54 is back in garage. This original 54 Chevrolet Belair currently being offered is a great investment and clearly superior to ordinary bank CDs, government bonds, and the like.
