Vehicle Detail

1994 Ford Thunderbird Super CoupeThis car was just listed last week, but the buyer never communicated with me and didn't pay. SO, after 80 hours of waiting for the very disappointing winning bidder, here we go again... The Bad News :( NOT RUNNING, but will turn over as the battery still has some life, as it seemed fine but is a few years old. I’m guessing 80, maybe 80.5K on the car because the ODO just died about 4 months ago at 78,393mi.At about 70mph on Wednesday, Dec 12, 2012, the cam chain tensioner broke and, most likely, the valves have met the pistons in a most unpleasant manner. It'll turn over, but no more. The exhaust needs to be replaced, including cats. When running, it’s not really loud, but you know there’s a hole in it.The shifter button is held in place in the shift handle with black tape, but it works. The tabs broke on it that hold it in place, so that button needs replacement at some point. The speakers for the stereo are shot. They produce sound, but really need replacement. AND I removed the powered subwoofer last year, as it was terrible. Never did get a trunk sub.The belts need to be replaced. Although still intact, they are in need of replacement. The EGR needs to be replaced. I had the “Check Engine” light on the diagnostics to validate that. Most hoses and gaskets are original. This car lived the greater of its life in a suburb of Chicago, so it’s seen plenty of snow and salt, although it generally doesn’t show it.Probably needs a break job, but they work fine. The passenger seat electric controls do not work. I know not why. The Good News :) The car is a sweet example of a 1994 Super Coupe. Really clean. Garaged for the most part since 2001 and used as a guest car.The adjustable suspension works great. In firm position, it’s quite sporty.Cruise control works, as well as all the steering wheel control switchesThe stock stereo worksThe antenna works greatThe power windows, locks and keyless entry all work like newThe speedometer, boost, tach and temp gauges all workRemote trunk and gas filler worksAll lights and signals in and out of the vehicle workThe CD changer that came with the vehicle is still in the trunk, unused for countless yearsThe driver’s seat controls all work (up, down, forward, backward, side bolsters, lower back bladder). The paint is generally quite satisfying. Upon closer exam you’ll see the plastic nose and tail showing their age. But generally, pretty darn good. It’s one of those 10 foot rule cars. 10 feet away, it looks almost new.The car was well maintained by certified mechanics.New Fuel Pump and filter in October 2011New cam position sensor replace in, I believe, October 2011New spark plugs as of last week.New Tires in October 2011. 7K miles on them, at the most. With the correct space, time, knowledge and tools, and this car can be running within a couple weeks. I simply don’t have any of those things. In Summary, really nice car for the mechanic or SC fan who needs a parts car. I can’t imagine what one would make parting this car out. The tires and fuel pump alone are worth more than my initial asking price. If you buy this vehicle, I must have money in the bank prior to transfer of the title and/or vehicle itself. If it's going to be payment in person, we will perform the transaction at my bank, during regular hours, so the buyer funds are validated by my bank. And that will have to happen at 9am, as I have to be off to work by 9:50am, AZ time. The buyer assumes all responsibility of picking up and transporting this vehicle. This vehicle is sold as-is and is not currently driveable, if that's a word. I am not shipping this for the buyer.
