FIRSTOFF Merry Chtristmas to all,I love the wagon its my second one the first one was a non turbo diesel 4 speed standars,this one runs circles around the standard.HERE we have a 1983 mercede}s 300D turbodiesel,the original engine had an oil failure because of the oil pan,and was replaced with a mercedes wagon crate motor from another car,the other wagon was/is a euro/grey market,and also provides 2 of everything,it also has a blue interior. The engine had 90 k at the time of the transplant,now it has another 13 that ive put on,unfortunately I dont have documentation ,I run the motor with rotella 15w40 and lucas oil stabilizer in the summer only,the oil gets changed at 3000 miles,I will also run WVO{I like to run the stabilizer because of what the wvo does}I dont run biodiesel or methanol .I could but its rough on the rubber.Presently there is a 2 tank system,all wvo goes into the inj pump at 190 degrees,I have a hose in hose setup,with a 12v heater before the pump. All the original mercedes lines are intact,the feed and return,all lines are original to the injector,in other words I could take the veg kit off and all the plumbing is original,my kit has a filter before the fuel pump by the veg tank,then it gets filtered by the heated wvo filter then it goes thru a 12 volt heater then thru the wvo/diesel switching,then gets filtered in the small plastic diesel filter then the big spin on,a little odd maybe but I made it 4000 miles before I changed the main diesel filter. I must say im hugely impressed with the robust mercedes 5 cylinder turbo and its ability to run on veg without a hiccup,it gets an estimated 23-28 mpg or an honest 25 mpg.Lots of power always runs the same Although it doesnt pull like my cummins,it pulls,it has lots of power,the tranny was flushed and shifts good,its all about the vacum,the door locks work,it is the original tranny,a 4 speed auto.When the temp drops below40 it takes about 2 seconds to shift into high. As far as body rust goes,it has all original paint,no secrets,dent in the passenger door,front apron under bumper a little rusty,and a spot under the drivers rear bumper{see pics}I would say 93-95 % rust free,not bad for a 30 year old rig ,jack points all solid{pics coming} It does have the mercedes quirks,its kind of a living breathing thing,temp guage works ,speedo and tach works,sometimes tach gets flaky,2 fuel guages work,oil pressure guage works,would like to sell to someone who knows these cars,although a GIRL bought my last 4 speed wagon,and loves it. The car has a new windshield,new master cylinder 3 months ago,front pads,2 new front tires,new front sls line and fluid.the blue interior is nice,some wood is off,this car has the seat with the armrest,my last wagon was an 80 4 speed standard non turbo and the 80 didnt have the armrest ,the non turbo was a slug even with the standard. I like this car much better,their is also a gm 5 speed conversion kit ,but thats another story. The dash is not cracked on this car like most,it has a dash cover,hatch doesnt stay up,sunroof didnt leak till we opened it,so its sealed up now. The drivers rear window doesnt work, all the rest do,2 new tires and brake pads on the front,the SLS has new fluid and works fine.It also has a new main line,has a toggle switch for the blower,A/C did push cold,will need work or charge. This auction is for car only,no veg kit,no parts,although buyer has 1st shot at spares and kit.would like the car paid for in full before the veg kit comes out,500 in 24 hours the rest in 7 days.The veg kit will go in another car,I hate to send it along with the new owner if they dont use it,has the greasecar rectangle tank,preheater,coolant heated filter assembly,hose in hose,swap solenoid,I could also keep my tank bypass it so you can get home on diesel and then you could just put your own tank in,you would have to pay for components thanx.
