You're looking at one of the rarest cars ever built that after twenty plus years still has that timeless feel. Honda back in 1991 decided to build a true "exotic car" that would be reliable and safe to drive. Today the car still turns heads and is a conversation piece wherever it goes.
We purchased the NSX on e-Bay in December 2010 out of a Acura dealership in Springfield Missouri. When we took delivery it needed lots of tender loving care. Since the Car-fax was clean and the body was in decent shape we decided that a full restoration was in order. The process of restoring a modern classic automobile began in January 2011.
INTERIOR: We removed the complete interior and replaced the fittings with suede. The seats are black alcantara with a red piping along the seat bolsters, the headrest NSX logo is in red stitching, the headliner and all the pillars are black alcantara suede along with both door panels. Even the sun visor has been redone in black suede. The NSX comes with a dual factory power seat, the interior lamps were upgraded to super white LED's, new carpet throughout and a brand new set of custom floor mats that make this NSX look rich. A pioneer avic double din touch screen navigation system with XM nav-traffic along with a built in DVD player,i-pod cable hookup, JL audio amplifier with a hidden subwoofer enclosed as well as a back up camera...WOW.
EXTERIOR: This NSX has a completely customized four piece body kit that has been molded to the car perfectly... looks like it came out of the factory. The side skirts are custom modified to make it look original, the front bumper has a black mesh grill and a custom pair of LED fog lights along with smoked lenses to create a stealth look. The rear bumper has also been customized and the lenses carry out the same smoked red look. The rear wing is something special, made of carbon fiber that has been refurbished into a smoked deep cherry red color and in the sun it's incredibly great looking.
PAINT: After finished the car we realized that the paint work was the weakest link and that took much discussion. We ended up painting the car in the Lexus SC 430 Palm Beach Edition Black Color which consists of a shiny black color embedded into the paint with black, red, blue, green and gold flakes. We used six coats of base coat, four coats of paint and three coats of clear coat that makes this NSX into a moviestar...for real !!!!
LIGHTING PACKAGE: The headlights high and low beams are converted to super white, the marker lights are smoked red with a hyper white bulb, the fog lights are smoked LED's super white, the tail lights are smoked red, the reverse lights are amber yellow and the turn signal indicators are super white.
RIMS & TIRES: We have added four V-S wheel works three piece wheels that have been custom painted with a black lip and a smoked red spoked center that coordinates smartly with the carbon fiber wing and the smoked lens throughout the car. The NSX comes with Bridgestone Potenza's front 18's and rear 19's. The front and rear pads are ceramic and the calipers are red and white and even back in 1991 the ABS is on four wheels.
ENGINE AND SUSPENSION: The engine is the stock NSX 3.0 liter V-tec 5-speed transmission with a custom nob and a short shifter. Also carries the HKS short ram intake pipe and filter, DC sport header pipes, a cat back exhaust, four inch dual stainless pipes and tips. Of course we did a complete fresh service of fluids and filters as well as the servicing the original R-12 that came with a/c unit. For additional performance to the NSX we have added a full Tien package. This includes the front and rear springs, strut mounts, shocks that are fully adjustable. The car drives and handles flawlessly. As you have just read we put a lot of time, effort, thought and money into this restoration, and became "our labor of love" and just after a full year the NSX is now finally up for sale. Our thoughts from the beginning was to keep the car as original as possible and although we made lot's of changes the car itself is still pure "NSX" with the paint, bodykit, wheels and stealth enhancements added to take this NSX to the next level.
