Vehicle Detail

Christmas has come EARLY!!!!! I am selling my 1969 VW Convertible and it will be an early Christmas present for someone. Due to the dreaded "too many projects", I just do not have time to finish it and do not want it sitting. Instead you can own a classic VW convertible that you can easily finish and drive while having it done and have FUN! I have replaced the interior with new carpets and seat covers. The top is brand new as well. I bought this car last summer from a gentleman who had it in a 15 year dry storage. We put in a good battery and turned the key and it started right up without hesitation. The voltage regulator was "clicking", so that I switched out. The gas was old, so I drained it, and the fuel pump gasket was dried up, so there is a slight drip from the carburetor. I have a total rebuild kit to correct this (easy 15 minute fix), I will try and fix if I have time but it is an easy fix that takes 15 minutes, to take off the top, pull out old gasket, put in the new one and put top back on. It is well worth rebuilding since this is a good German Fuel Pump that the true "purists" desire. The car runs beautifully with clean fuel and shifts and stops easily. The engine reportedly was rebuilt prior to being parked, which I believe due to the even idle and compression. The top was completely replaced with a new one, new floor pans were welded in and all the other body work completed before storage as well. The only place left to fix is the small area on the cowl below the windshield that has a couple dime sized holes. I have a brand new windshield rubber gasket to include to reinstall windshield if you remove it. Otherwise, just throw a piece of duct tape on it for now and go driving. Brakes, lines, wheel cylinders, front end, tires, etc., all work fine and show no need for repairs. I have replaced the side mirrors with good German made ones, as well as a new radio antenna, shifter assembly, window cranks and I will include a brand new set of running boards still in the box. This car is a valuable little collectible when completed. I sold the exact car, same color, last year for close to $10,000. This car is far from a big project. It just needs a weekend of prep and than a Maco paint job and away you go. Your choice how far you want to go with it but as I said, with a small amount of tinkering and maybe an easy tune up, you can have endless fun driving it as it is. The only things presently not working are the radio, (not hooked up, so not sure if it works), and the heater cables are not hooked back up after the new floor pans were installed. The passenger side front door has a slight rub/skid that is an easy fix. I have put a very low and reasonable reserve on the car to move it. I am happy to sell worldwide but the shipping costs are the new buyers responsibility. I will help in any way to load up the car on this end. Please ask questions as my mind reading skills are very poor. If you have less than 5 feedbacks, you need to contact me prior to bidding or I will cancel your bids. I do not have time or energy to mess with deadbeats and scammers. I will accept cash, bank check or wire transfer. Paypal is available but buyer needs to pay the fees as I can not afford to absorb them, selling so cheap. A deposit of $500.00 within 48 hours is required (Pay pal is Okay here), and full payment within a week or before car is moved. One final thing. Connecticut does not have titles for vehicles over 25 years of age. No amount of crying, begging, etc., can change this so I will provide an official CT. Bill of Sale and even get one notarized for our Foreign buyers, if desired. I have sold a couple cars overseas with this and have never had a problem. So please understand I have no control with the DMV. Thanks for viewing my ad. I will answer all questions and if you shoot me a phone number will be happy to have a conversation as well. Naturally the vehicle is sold without warranty and since it is also for sale locally, I reserve the right to end the auction early if it sells prior to conclusion. Good Luck bidding. This is a re-list due to a Foreign Buyer holding me up for 3 weeks getting shipping quotes. Please have your arrangements made prior to bidding.
