Vehicle Detail

NO RESERVE! I had the car sold as a buy it now after only one day on eBay. However, the buyer could not come up with the funds. Please don't waste our time by bidding on this car if you don't have funds lined up. I need the car sold, I have no time to play with it and it is taking up space. Great opportunity! For your consideration: A low mileage unmolested 1970 Cadillac Eldorado. I am selling this car because I am changing focus in life-and am selling a lot of my toys. Clear blue Texas title in my name. Background: Please bid what you can afford and think is appropriate. This Cadillac has 33K original careful miles, I am the second owner. Straight, original, complete, and rust free. The car drives solid, tight, reliably, and sure footed. This car has never given a lick of trouble! All the tune up items, fluids, filters, clean gas tank, replace sending unit, rebuild carburetor, replace water and fuel pump, rebuilt the HVAC system (over 2k alone-no stone unturned-new compressor, r134a conversion), tires, etc, etc. Good original leather interior, factory original and clean engine, and trunk compartments, nice chrome. Also, this car is loaded; power windows, power locks, cruise control, auto headlight dimmer plus twilight sentinel, telescoping steering wheel, AM/FM stereo, plus factory Cadillac under dash 8 track (I have removed the 8 track-it comes with the car and was working great-it is in the trunk; in its place I have mounted a modern $500 radio/cd player that comes with the car-no cutting was done). Yes, the HVAC system works perfectly, and the AC will freeze you to death-even here in Texas. Pricing: The buy it now represents a bargain-I paid 12.5k for the car and spent over 3k on it. New exhaust, tires, battery, cables, starter and alternator rebuilt. I am a collector and a fanatic. I have sold several of my collector cars on eBay; if you doubt my sincerity, read my feedback, or refrain from bidding. Overall: This car is a revelation on the open road-a fighter jet! I did not take glamour pictures, nor am I going to write an elaborate BS laden story about the value of collector cars being in color, blah, blah. The color of this particular Eldorado is called "nottingham firemist green," and is quite striking on a sunny day. The car wears its factory finish-with no rust issues. I think this color is semi-rare, as I have seen only two other 1970 Eldorados in this color...a sort of dark metallic green, which contrasts well and works nicely with the black vinyl roof and black leather interior. Cosmetic flaws: I captured the two dings in the divers door: the larger one in the middle below the impact strip is noticeable and detracts from the appearance of the car, you will want to have this repaired. The other is near where the door and front driver's side fender meet, again below the impact strip (this one is difficult to spot unless up close-refer to photos). They were there when I purchased the car-trying to be 100% upfront. The rear bumper looks excellent from several feet away, and is certainly straight and rust free, but it could stand re-plated for show. These bumpers are angled downwards and the exhaust tarnishes and fades the chrome somewhat. On close inspection, imperfections are apparent in the paint (tiny chipped areas that have been spot painted)-they did not show up in the photos, but any original 1970 paint job will have imperfections. This car is a time capsule-I would not repaint. It does look perfect from 5 feet. The rare pass side rear view mirror is loose at the top, it may have been hit at one time, I'm sure it is fixable. It really isn't noticeable, but I want to be 100% on this description-I value my 100% feedback. The foam padding beneath the leather on the driver's side seating surface has either broken down or degraded as there is something of an indention there (I never have seen any foam come out though). The piping down low has started to degrade somewhat as well. Again, not really noticeable, however-I describe my cars as if I were going over it with a magnifying glass. I tried to capture everything as if a potential bidder were looking at it in person. What would they want to look at? One thing I did not address, because I did not think they were needed: the belts look like they may be original, they are stamped with GM script and numbers, they are starting to crack. I just noticed this...should be easy to deal with. In closing: Bid with confidence to own this beautiful car, from a time when America really built cars. This is the highly collectible 400 horse power, 500 cubic inch 1970 Cadillac Eldorado, a historic, powerful and significant car. I don't know if you will find another with this low mileage, in a great state of preservation, at this price point and ready to drive. You could fly in and drive this car to Canada (although, I would change the belts prior to). This is a great opportunity to acquire one of these at a bargain price! Good Luck! Don’t hesitate to ask questions. High bidder wins... On Dec-02-12 at 19:40:50 PST, seller added the following information: I would like to address a few questions that I have been asked several times, by different people: 1) No, there is no rust in the car. Yes, I have taken pictures of the chassis to prove that; I can send to interested parties. 2) Yes, I have service records on the car. 3) Yes, everything works except the original radio which was bypassed when the CD player was installed. Can easily be plugged back in. 4) No, there is no long mark on the top portion of the drivers door. That is a reflection from the door glass. 5) Yes, you can come by to see the car. 2 people already have. 6) No, the car has never been detailed. I have just washed it and wiped it down...it is that sharp! No waxes, etc-great depth and shine. I have been tempted to have the engine compartment professionally cleaned; I think it would respond well and look spectacular without all the dust. The new owner can take this car to show quality. I just enjoyed it as a super high end driver. As it is - a great survivor and one heck of a sharp car. I literally got non stop attention every time I drove the car. Needs to go to somebody with the time to play with it.
