1973 Husqvarna 400 5-speed MX Race Bike. Not a numbers matching bike. Got this bike as a project bike a couple of years ago. Spent some time tinkering and reassembling. Now I have too many vintage big bore bikes and need to thin the herd. Motor number is 2030 009 (1973 CR400)Frame number is MK 07760 (1973 CR400) The good:Mag SwingarmNew rear spokesNew rear tireMotoplat just rewound by Vance SmithPeriod Koni rear shocks w/good damping and reboundCircle-F pipe and silencerNew seat coverNew throttle and cableThe bad:Motor runs and sounds OK but there is no history on it. Purchased the motor as a runner.Tank has been repainted but will need body work and a better paint job if you are more of a purist.Front tire is an old Metzeler but looks like it can handle a few racesRims are old lipped Akronts (in very good shape)Motor runs but will need to be tuned and jetted. Only got this in the ballpark with a new Bing rebuild kit/needle/airscrew. Can deliver in the metro DC area, or can hold on to it and arrange a pickup at the York Swapmeet. Can also deliver to Forward Air at Dulles, VA airport for the cost of a lock and tie downs. Will also work with a shipper. Will not crate, dismantle, or be involved with overseas shipping - please don't ask. If you arrange for shipper to pick up at my door and can live with a simple bill of sale I'm OK with that.
