Vehicle Detail

I have been working on this car as a personal project for 3 years. It was not my intention to sell so it has been built slowly and meticulously. Here is a list of the work in a somewhat chronological order...Body-off resto frame perfect so just sanded and painted.Brake lines new and installedSuspension rebuilt... new shocks, springs and all bushings new.Diff mounts perfect... installed new poly bushingsBrakes all new... calipers new, rear cylinders and rotors new, brake master and clutch master all new. Clutch is excellent... machined flywheel, too.All body mounts new and installed after the body was done... all new floors and rockers.. 1 full year of welding and 1 full year of sanding produced the straightest body lines i have ever seen on a TR6. One photo shows the pass door... i laid a large piece of tubing on the ground... check the reflection on the side of the car to give you an idea of how perfect it is. Primer 3 coats of DP-90 with 3 coats of BRG paint. Filler NEVER exceeded 2mm's anywhere on the car.Engine block Rebuilt locally in vancouver... camshaft and driveshaft ground 010 over and new bearings all installed. Cylinders bored 040 with NEW pistons and rings. Cylinder Head rebuilt in Langley... head ground, new valve guides, valve seats and all new valves installed. New oil pump and water pump. Galleries cleaned, rocker shaft cleaned inside and plug rethreaded and replaced. one picture shows the phenomenal oil pressure with engine running. Rebuilt distributor with electronic ignition installed. Electric fan installed. I only drove the car for 3 months in the summer but it never approached over-temp. Its electronically controlled... more on that later...New carpets, rebuilt ORIGINAL seats, all interior panels perfect, new transmission cover (ABS) Wood steering wheel, all dash instruments and all electrical perfect. And for the kicker... i have the original Stromberg carbs or a set of SU HD-8 carbs mounted on the intake manifold if you want to get collector status.. An original english radio is installed. It doesn't work but it is required to apply for collector plates. You may notice the mac sitting on the passenger seat. If you check out the engine bay the engine has been upgraded to full EFI with a fully re-programmable EFI system called megasquirt. It also has a wideband exhaust sensor attached so that the system learns your driving habits and adjusts the EFI for perfect fuel consumption and power. The mac is running with the car so you can see it showing RPM, Water temp and Air temp. The airbox is original Triumph but all the other parts are from a ford mustang or i have hand-fabricated in my shop> ( i am a shop teacher). I have even machined the poly bushings for the gas-pedal swingarm. The car runs really really well with tons of acceleration. pulls with what seems to be endless smooth torque. Here is what needs to be done... I have not yet installed the wipers and wiper mechanism. I have all the parts though. The boot needs to be detailed and panels installed.the 2 interior panels that cover the heater box are not installed... i don't have them...I have a fuel-pressure regulator to be installed to bring the pressure down a bit... The car has a lumpy idle with high HC's... a slightly lower pressure should allow the system to control the fuel at idle to compensate for this... the electrics can do it or you can play with the computer and do it yourself. I prefer doing it this way... it really is a fun way to experiment with the fuel curves. This car has been a fantastic project for the last 3 years and it is a joy to drive and work on. People stop you all the time to chat about it and kids point as you drive down the road. I am selling because my wife and i have decided to adopt overseas and the start-up costs would be covered by the sale of the car. The car is in langley, BC which is just across the line from Bellingham, Washington. Heres some legal stuff... the buyer/winning bidder must contact the seller within 24 hours. a deposit of 1000 dollars must be made within 3 days of the end of the auction. balance is due within 7 days of the end of the auction. oversea buyers must wire the money within five days of the end of the auction. all sales are final. car is sold in a as is condition. all inspections must take place before the end of the auction. as the winning bidder you have to purchase the car.
