Up for sale is a 1986 Fiat X1/9. I'm going to be as straight forward as possible with this listing. This car has been in my family for many years. It was acquired with very low miles and had the following work done: PBS head with high compression pistons, performance cam, new clutch, lowering springs, new tires, re-upholstered. All work was done by sports cars unlimited in Richmond, va. Car was parked a few years ago because the second gear synchro was acting up and it was going to need a throttle cable very soon. For whatever reason we never got around to doing these things and the car just sat - which is bad for cars - and it shows. The interior and exterior are now looking rough due to sitting. Probably actually a little worse than you can tell in the pictures. I think there was also some issue with the horn, so an alternate horn button was installed to pass its last inspection. The odometer reads 48,847. The car does run - it has always run. We turn it over a couple times a year and it always starts right up. There is no frame/body rust, which is a very good thing - only a few surface rust spots where the paint has chipped off here and there. If you are even looking at this you probably already know about the X1/9 and their appeal - so I won't try to sell that. Reserve is $500 (car is probably worth way more than that - but at this point, I want someone to be able to rescue it before its too late - which it is not yet). Car is not currently inspected and will need to be towed away. Car is located in Cumberland County Virginia - which is about an hour west of Richmond. Winning bidder must pay the full amount via paypal within 24 hours of the end of the auction. Car must be towed away within a week of the end of the auction. On Nov-28-12 at 08:18:35 PST, seller added the following information: I've added a picture of the interior. it looks like the leather is in ok shape - its just really dirty inside and out. It doesn't look like there are any cracks in the dash. I mentioned before that the paint is in rough shape from sitting in the sun - you can't really tell in the pictures. I don't know why the pictures show up so small, I paid for enlarged pictures and the picture files I uploaded are full size high quality pictures.
