Excellent low mileage example of this great BMW sport bike. Only 4372 miles. These bikes rarely come up for sale, there were only a relative few imported only one year, and they have a fanatical following.I have priced this right, the starting bid is the Kelly Blue Book Dealer trade in price. There is no reserve, if you are willing to bid my starting price you will own it.You will rarely find an unmolested r1200s with this low of mileage.The original list price was over $14,000. You might wonder if there is something wrong with this motorcycle because I have it priced so low (compared to recent listings). Here is my rational, it needs tires, ought to have the brake , trans and final drive fluids changed, and the battery is 6 years old. Now I could go out and get tires and battery, and pay my local BMW dealer a bunch of money for the fluid changes. OR I can make you a great deal on this bike and let you pick your own tires and battery. Maybe you would choose a Lithium Ion battery from Shorai rather than an OEM battery, or perhaps you prefer Michelin tires over Metzeler, whatever, you can get what you want. If this does not sell this winter at this price, i will do all that stuff this winter and put it back on the market next spring. I am the original owner of this bike, although it was a demo bike held by BMWNA before being sent to a dealer. I purchased the motorcycle from BMW of Salt Lake City in December 2009.(There is a great picture on the web of the Press introduction in 2007 at the playboy mansion in California, I have always wondered if my bike was in the line up in that picture) It is bone stock with only one modification, I had the selling dealer wire the power outlet to the battery with a BMW part kit, so an trickle charger with the BMW jack would charge directly without going through the regular electrical system.The bike has always been stored indoors in a heated garage and non smoking environment.It has the original battery that is always on a battery tender when not being ridden.It has never been down.I have been caught in the rain twice. While cleaning today I noticed two small nicks in the paint. They are on either side of the pillion seat, probably caused by a bungee cord. Took picture of both nicks, you can see one, the other is so slight that it is hard to get a picture of it.Has the original tires, they will probably go another 500. Switched to Mobil 1 synthetic at 2000 miles, oil changed recently at 4100.Options are:Switchable ABSHeated grips I have a couple of oil filters, and the Beemer Boneyard oil filter wrench will be included. I have space to store this motorcycle for a couple of weeks or over the winter if necessary. UPDATE 11/28/2012; 5:21 EST: On Friday, i will be taking the bike to Pegram Racing's workshop in Canal Winchester Ohio for a pre-purchase used bike inspection, report will be available upon request via e-mail by Friday evening.
